The point is that the US is a multinethnic country that has held slaves, rejected and demonized immigrants of various nationalities, but when "the better angels of our natures" are activated, does a pretty good job of creating a society that works.

So you think we are a failure as a society? Fine with me if you want to halt immigration, so long as we keep to our legal responsibility to accept qualifying refugees. When we slowed immigration at the earlier part of the 20th, that almost affected my people, who came in under the wire from Sicily.

But your thoughts represent the swings in US history. Open doors/resent immigrants/close doors/immigrants become solid citizens/open doors/resent immigrants. Wash, rinse, repeat.

If you are talking about a 'white homeland", where the predominant culture is white, then, no, it is not racist. There are only about 600 million whites on the planet. Most large racial groups have a region of the globe where their culture, religions and traditions dominate. There are about 1.2 billion black people on the planet. Sub-Saharan Africa is predominantly black. And there is a movement to expel whites from South Africa. There are about 3.3 billion Asians who dominate Asia. There are whites in both of these regions but the dominant cultures are not white. Arabs at 366 million have the Middle East, except for Israel. They have their culture, religion and traditions. It would not be racist for whites to consider Europe a "white" homeland. A place where their culture, religions and customs dominate. That doesn't mean no other races may visit or live there, just that white culture and values are the norm. Of course, it's obvious that Europe won't be a white culture much longer.

Not as sure about other immigrants, including illegal ones.

They send much of their earned income out of the US, back to their countries of origin. I'm not saying I don't understand the desire to help their families, in fact I respect them for that. But for the sake of this discussion it's worthy to note that illegal immigrants working in America are more of a monetary asset to the countries they came from, than to the USA. That's the real reason Mexico is dead set against building a wall or doing anything that would cause illegal migration into the USA to cease.
