Of course not. They changed. The people are still there though, including those who served under the banner of the USSR, and now serve the Russian Federation.
I know you want to pretend that Obama wasnt president and is somehow beyond criticism, but there is no question Obama was much softer on Russia than Trump has been. If the truth hurts your feelings, too bad.

I don't care what you feel. Once you deflected onto Obama, you proved the meme that I posted right.
And yet, when people refer to Russia today, they don't mean the Soviet Union.
"How dare someone bring up other presidents in my 'is Trump tougher than other presidents' thread"!!!Hi Phys,
Please ignore Fletch's clear attempts to make this discussion about Obama and not what the question was actually about.

What do all of your 30, 50 and 80 year old quotes have to do with the fact that when people refer to Russia today, they don't mean the Soviet Union?"My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes." - Ronald Reagan (a joke to NPR engineers). And yet, when people refer to Russia today, they don't mean the Soviet Union.
The distinction you're trying to make simply isn't there for anybody that lived during the Cold War.

This was already explained to you. People wouldn't refer to the USSR today, because it no longer exists and Russia is no longer communist.
Cool, so you agree that Trump wasn't referring to the USSR.
I see. He was referring to the same Russia even though it did not exist. Gotcha.I've explained he was referring to the same Russia that Reagan was referring to when he used the term in spite of the fact that Russia did not exist and the USSR did.

Given the president's latest statements on his actions towards, Russia, I thought it should be put to a vote. Ronald Reagan dealt directly with Moscow (Former capital of the USSR/Present capital of Russia) throughout his entire tenure. Is it true that Trump has been tougher than every president before him, Reagan included? The option are as follows:
- Yes, he was tougher than every other president; Reagan included.
- No, he was not tougher than every other president; Reagan was tougher.
- No, he was not tougher than every other presidents; many others were tougher (please provide examples).
- I do not know.
Please note that this threads is for DP members only. Secondly whatever your answer is, the topic of this thread is not a discussion on whether Trump lied, but whether his statements were accurate - as such the answers reflect choices which look at the accuracy of his statements. That is because a person can be inaccurate without necessarily lying.
Discuss.
Hi, I'm the OP. Obama isn't in the description of the question asked. Reagan was, multiple other presidents, none and the option to say you don't know are available.
Please pick one of those.
That's pretty much a fact. You were trying to detail the topic.I wasnt responding to your OP.
He's walking around selling Putin's policies, anti-NATO, anti-EU, withdraw from Syria, we didn't do it... how's promoting Russian policies being tough...
