Tried to find a download link, but so far unsuccessful. If anyone is more successful than me, please feel free to post a link. Thank you in advance! The report from the UN Climate Panel is not just "another climate report". It is the heaviest, a total review of the latest research. It forms the basis of all climate policy and is crucial for the major climate summit in Glasgow in November. The report is based on 14,000 scientific articles, which are expected to be several thousand pages thick. It has been written by 234 lead authors, and the drafts have treated tens of thousands of comments. So far it seem to be quite dark and suggest we reach the point of no return.

There a big reason for that we are running out of time is the economical elite that for a long time known about the need for action on climate change. There they still failed to act not only in their professional roles but also set a bad examples for the rest us through their excessive private consumption with unsustainable polutions.

There a transiton away from fossil fuel is not only possible but also have a lot of benefits and could have happen a lot sooner if the warnings from the world's leading scientists had been heard.

If anyone thinks downplaying and undermining the science on the pandemic has been devastating, just wait until the full effects of climate change really start to kick in.

Nature and reality are about to teach our conservative friends a lesson on how they have very little tolerance for their ability to think and act freely. Beliefs and actions have very real consequences in the real world. There are no “alternative facts”.

As I begin reading the SPM, I see they are playing some word games.
This section talks (very carefully) about the increase in sunlight reaching the ground from aerosol reductions.
A.4.1 Human-caused radiative forcing of 2.72 [1.96 to 3.48] W m–2 in 2019 relative to 1750 has warmed
the climate system. This warming is mainly due to increased GHG concentrations, partly reduced by cooling
due to increased aerosol concentrations. The radiative forcing has increased by 0.43 W m–2 (19%) relative to
AR5, of which 0.34 W m–2 is due to the increase in GHG concentrations since 2011. The remainder is due to
improved scientific understanding and changes in the assessment of aerosol forcing, which include decreases
in concentration and improvement in its calculation (high confidence).
{2.2, 7.3, TS.2.2, TS.3.1}
So between 2011 and 2019, they are saying that total forcing increased by .43W m–2, of which
.34 W m-2 were from the increase in greenhouse gasses and .09 W m-2 were from,
(an improved understanding and changes in the assessment of aerosol forcing.)
We are left to assume that the IPCC has almost completely ignored the actual studies looking at the Earth's energy imbalance.
Anthropogenic forcing and response yield observed positive trend in Earth’s energy imbalance
The study clearly shows in INCREASE in outgoing longwave radiation, the opposite of what should happen with an increase in greenhouse gas forcing.
The observed increase in EEI in this study was from a decrease in the reflected shortwave radiation!

AR6 downloads are available here. The site is getting hit hard today, so I'd wait a bit to download.

The "12 years" are up. Of course, the deniers will point to something retarded, like snow falling in December, to argue it's all bs.

I've learned long ago that you cannot fix stupid. And, the Right is nothing but a lot of stupid.

These are people who voted for more of Donald Trump for god sakes. They are the ones literally dying to "prove" that vaccines and masks are ineffective. Brains on that side of the aisle are in short supply.

Is it any surprise that they now cheer the burning of earth?

You are posting nonsense, again.

You are posting nonsense, again.
How is it nonsense, when the predicted observations are not happening?
Greenhouse gasses slow down outgoing longwave radiation,
an increase in greenhouse gasses, should decrease the the outgoing longwave radiation,
but while the greenhouse gasses have increased, the outgoing longwave radiation has also increased.
The increase in Earth's energy imbalance in this study is from a decrease in reflected shortwave radiation,
something greenhouse gasses have little effect on.

half of the western United States, British Columbia Canada, Greece, and Turkey are experiencing catastrophic fires caused primarily by drought and climate change.

How is it nonsense, when the predicted observations are not happening?

What in the world are you talking about? They are already happening... ahead of schedule.

"Earth is warming faster than previously thought, and the window is closing to avoid catastrophic outcomes"

Yes, Earth is warming, but are greenhouse gasses and particularly CO2 the controlling function they are claimed?
Greenhouse gasses are supposed to reduce outgoing infrared light (Longwave radiation), but while the greenhouse gasses continued
to increase between 2011 and 2020, the outgoing longwave radiation increased, not decreased.

Why do they so hate their grandchildren that they seem more than willing to leave them a world of environmental destruction?

Ran across this story about AR6 in the Huffington post this AM. It referenced a different BBC story.
But I had to chuckle when I read ...
“It is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, ocean and land,” reads a summary for policymakers. “Widespread and rapid changes in the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere and biosphere have occurred.” in the HuffPo piece. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/unit...orning Email 8-9-21&utm_term=us-morning-email

If you know anything about the UNs AR climate reports you know that the Summary For Policymakers (SPM) often doesn't accurately reflect the body of the AR reports given the intentional involvement of Government representatives in writing the SPM.

HuffPo didn't mention that but the BBC story said ...
"After a week of intense negotiations in the Swedish capital, the summary for policymakers on the physical science of global warming has finally been released."

Why on earth would you need intense negotiations to report something that's supposed to report settled science?

Something else from the BBC story ...
"But a so-called pause in the increase in temperatures in the period since 1998 is downplayed in the report. The scientists point out that this period began with a very hot El Nino year.
"Trends based on short records are very sensitive to the beginning and end dates and do not in general reflect long-term climate trends," the report says.
Prof Stocker, added: "I'm afraid there is not a lot of public literature that allows us to delve deeper at the required depth of this emerging scientific question.
"For example, there are not sufficient observations of the uptake of heat, particularly into the deep ocean, that would be one of the possible mechanisms to explain this warming hiatus."
Likewise we have insufficient data to adequately assess the forcing over the last 10-15 years to establish a relationship between the causes of the warming."
However, the report does alter a key figure from the 2007 study. The temperature range given for a doubling of CO2 in the atmosphere, called equilibrium climate sensitivity, was 2.0C to 4.5C in that report.
In the latest document, the range has been changed to 1.5C to 4.5C. The scientists say this reflects improved understanding, better temperature records and new estimates for the factors driving up temperatures."

Get that? Think about it.

I'm sure you did. People failing to understand something often ridicule it rather than try understanding.

Everything is happening as predicted. If you still can’t understand why, take a class and figure it out.

Why do they so hate their grandchildren that they seem more than willing to leave them a world of environmental destruction?

Prudence and long-term thinking are not strong points with these folks.

But that being said, I think they are calculating that if they make enough money with their shirt-sighted greed and self-interest, only the poor are going to suffer the impact of climate change, and it will not affect them, sitting in their air-conditioned homes and watching all the human suffering unfold.

They forget that that home may also be knee-deep in water.

Why do they so hate their grandchildren that they seem more than willing to leave them a world of environmental destruction?
I argue against poorly done science, for the sake of my grandchildren.
I see a very bright future of energy sustainability, if we follow the data, and not the politics.
We have a change to allow everyone alive to live a first would lifestyle, should they choose to,
but we can only achieve that future by following the scientific method.
Fossil fuels cannot be the future, as they are not sustainable.
The path of the Paris agreement, is a future not of income inequality, but of energy inequality,
where only the elite, can enjoy the benefits of energy we have today.
A real solution to our energy problem, will allow the benefits energy provides to the first world today,
to be available to everyone.

Everything is happening as predicted. If you still can’t understand why, take a class and figure it out.
That is the point, everything is not happening as predicted!
The prediction is that added greenhouse gasses would cause an infrared energy imbalance, that would increase as the level of the greenhouse gasses increased,
That is not what is happening!

LOL.

Only you know the real science.

Those thousands of experts who wrote the report really need to learn how to do science correctly, and should take advice from you, a guy who literally has never done a climate science study in his entire life.

It was about heat, not just infrared radiation. I don’t know where you came up with thus infrared nonsense. Black body radiation works across a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation.

I can only imagine you sit around and think long and hard about how you can throw fancy words in there to confuse an already confused lay public. Stop.
