IMO...Seattle should clean up its act, before it gets to be the toilet bowls San Francisco and Portland have become.
Take it from me if you have to. Seeing junkies fit in parks, and watching people crap on the sidewalks...is NOT a beautiful and Progressive thing at all.

It's interesting that you apparently think only liberal cities have needle problems. It's not true!! My mother in law owns a piece of commercial property in a small town in Alabama, and we regularly (every month or so) find needles in the parking lot. Most often they look like discarded insulin needles, but we also find what appear to be needles used by drug addicts. They're a pain. The guidelines call for using gloves, but try to pick up a needle in any glove that protects against punctures... Not easy. What the guy who works for us does most often is just carefully pick them up by hand and puts them in a water bottle or equivalent.

Actually, what Google is doing is seriously jeopardizing them as a company.

Google can be considered either a carrier (agnostic service provider) or a publisher (qualitative selector of community generated product). As a carrier they are not held liable for the product that users put on their platform. For this reason Google wants to be seen in the eyes of the law as a carrier...

But, if Google actively polices the content of their sites, like Youtube, Google Search, etc. then they are a PUBLISHER, and that would mean that they CAN be held liable for what they publish. Since they can not possibly employ enough people to police their platform, they are trying to accomplish it through AI algorithms.

One of the main reasons why Zucker, Pichai and Dorsey are pushing for federal regulation on Hate speech is so that they can offload responsibility to the Federal Government and thereby maintain their carrier status. If they force their preferred restrictions on ALL platforms then they are relieved of both liability AND competition.. a win-win in their minds.

What began as some great experiments in free speech, expression and thought sharing have become the most powerful voices against free speech, expression and thought sharing in today's public square..

Conservatives should start their own search engine, chat service, social media platform, a "buy right" grass roots campaign. Have freedom squash and liberty onions next to the organic section.

Is anyone shocked big companies have their favored candidate and use their power to benefit the chosen ones.
