Well there are air to air combat drones for taking out other drones, and it would be trivial to equip larger models with air to air missiles. It isn't necessary though because of the proliferation of manpads, and the vulnerability the aircraft face on the ground from drones.
Within 10 years what is being referred to as loyal wingman will be in operation. Cheaper, but not cheap drones that can keep up with manned fighters. Carrying more missiles and or electronic warfare equipment.
The more important function is the dual channel AA missiles that use radar from other sources to guide it close to the target ( ie stealth aircraft being picked up on long bandwidth radar) then using its own radar to lock on when close enough.
The pl15 is reported to be dual channel and used radar from Pakistani AWACs to guide it close to the Indian jets, then locked on within 30 km using its own radar. Allowing the Pakistani jets to fire missiles far outside of the Indian jet ranges.
Of course this tactic depends in AWACs to work, and losing them means other sources of radar us required
