And that same military was only able to kill 1.1 million Vietcong in 8 total years and lost the war.

And you think they would have a chance against 200 - 300 million?

200 to 300 million don’t have guns. 200 tp 300 million would not revolt against the government. 200 to 300 million do not live in the Vietcong jungle where you plant traps and hide in unfamiliar territory to the US military

If thats what you got from the conversation, I can't help you any further.

Sorry, we aren't talking about a few dozen people rebelling.

I didn't think anyone was going to rebel. What are you talking about?

The conversation was, if there was an uprising in this country, could the military stop it.

All I am getting from the conversation is that you can't keep track of what your position is ten minutes after you state it.

All I offer is that 95% of you cammo wearing fake patriots were either too fat and lazy to make it in the military or too stupid to become cops, or both, and the moment the National Guard gets federalized to put down your insurrection, 90% of you guys will turn tail and run, and the other ten percent will be turned into puree...and not necessarily by the Guard either because that remaining five percent might actually try to commit violence much the way five percent of our elected officials, and their fans in the Trump GOP have been threatening.

That remaining ten percent won't be threatening the Guard, they'll be trying to commit terrorist acts against members of the population that they've targeted. And that is when they will get their wakeup call and reality check...from the very folks they're targeting.

So again, if you think I am wrong, BRING IT.
Otherwise, you're just another keyboard commando talking like a badass on the internet.

Well, you're from California so I can understand your thoughts on an uprising as most out there would have a meltdown trying to figure out what to wear. So theres that.

Additionally, you haven't provided a single post of mine where I have claimed to want an uprising or even made a statement that I even support that position. But I understand how emotional this might be for you so lets just back up the track for a second before you melt completely.

All I have posted is the facts of a standing US military trying to put down a revolt in this country and why it wouldn't be successful. I took into consideration the emotional menz out there that can't even start a lawn mower.

I am prior Military so I have some insight in how they would feel firing upon US citizens. I also know the history of this country, how many active duty military personnel are out there vs over 300 million and if engaged you can either sit on the ground and cry like a little girl of defend yourself. If you are under the impression that 300 million people are made up of old white rednecks then it tells me again, you are just giving another emotional response to something way outside your safe zone.

So if you want to discuss what I actually posted instead of your assumption of what I might have meant, I would be glad to debate it with you. But I have no interest in trying to muddle through the fake claims and fake allegations. I realize that is the new persona of the left, but I'm just not interested.

U.S. civilians alone account for 393 million (about 46 percent) of the worldwide total of civilian held firearms. Not to mention the ones picked up on the battle field.

If there only 50 million against the US Military, they wouldn't stand a chance.

Oh, “only” a million dead.

That’s about as many deaths as the US suffered in the Civil War and World War Two total put together.

Meanwhile, the Viet Cong were veterans of decades of previous fighting.

There is no evidence whatsoever that the American people are willing to endure the suffering and disproportionate casualties that a guerrilla war would inflict.

Joe Schmuck the deer hunter is going to be much less eager to fight after the first time a Hellfire turns all his buddies into red mist.

As I said, you live in fantasy land

Oh, “only” a million dead.

yeah, and took 8 years to accomplish that.

The British had those exact same thoughts

How eager do you think a military pilot will be to fire on American citizens fighting a tyrannical government?

Due to the nature of guerrilla warfare. When the Viet Cong or NVA concentrated forces— as in Tet— they took heavy losses.

The British were almost laughably lenient on the American revolutionaries due to them being the “right” skin color and religion. Ask the Irish or the Indians what the British are willing to do when the Brits are fighting someone who doesn’t tick either box.

I rather doubt a minority pilot is going to care about putting ordinance on target when the folks they are fighting fly the Confederate flag. Conservatives’ definition of “tyranny” is very different than everyone else’s definition of the term.

First they were all deer hunters and now you have them waving the Confederate flag huh. Anything else you want to make up as we go along?
I guess that means Democrats will be bringing out their KKK uniforms again.

Fact: hunters make up a significant portion of gun owners, especially in rural areas.

Fact: Many on the right continue flying the confederate flag to this day, and it is particular common amongst the “militia movement”— aka the folks most likely to be on the frontlines fighting against the government given even the slightest chance.

Anything else you want to whine about in lieu of having an actual argument?

Also they do not have Russia supplying them, once their out of ammo in their bunkers, their out...

As I stated this liberal friend is intelligent enough to discuss anything with, without getting mad or offended. He is always willing to listen. That is why I call him a friend.

Fair enough.

In my world a "friend" is that guy you can call in the middle of the night to help you dispose of a body. Vetted, trusted, no worries about poor judgement.

Not really, I just enjoy these self proclaimed illusions. They certainly give some value to your state of mind and your lack of common sense coupled with your lack of ability to support such nonsense.

Entertaining though, I'll give you that much.

Career professional military, officer class, lifers...I doubt they're going to put up with all this civil war talk or talk of fighting to defend a particular president, (instead of The Constitution) or any other nonsense.

If a president decides to label, address or treat half the country as a domestic enemy, I think that's when he loses the support of the military because that is when the military will lose the support of all but the most extreme lunatics.
Once that happens, the options narrow down to either pulling our collective heads out of our collective bungholes or a repeat of Fort Sumter.

The latter didn't end up going very well for the folks who started it, and it's interesting that it's the same folks threatening to start it again.
And every time another one of them issues threats of another civil war, they're racheting up both their commitment AND their culpability.

Only ignorant hysterics buy into conspiracy nutter nonsense and claim to know what is true. The sane investigate and look at facts.
