Impeachment Hearing - Wednesday Nov 20 - Live Reaction

Gymnasium jordan.

Still hasn't figured out it's illegal to try to do illegal things. Just because they get caught before the deal is made doesnt exculpate you.

Pathetic.

Is the call Jordan is going on about provable?

Jordan just yells. What comes out of his mouth is like the exhaust from a semi...loud and smelly.

Does gym Jordan think we are all stupid? His argument is basically because the meeting never happened that it doesn’t matter. And because the aid was ultimately given it doesn’t matter. Sooo if we try to rob a bank, but do not succeed, it’s okay? That’s his argument? What a loser.

He was a ballistic mess.

I wonder if his whole family screams like that?

PASS THE TURKEY!!

DO YOU LIKE THE PIE??!!!

If he pleads the 5th, it is over. There may still be some gray areas, but by and large pleading the 5th does not go over well with the general public.
Trump and Co, have a tight-rope to walk today, they need him to stay on point, and not reveal too much, while also not coming across as though he is covering for POTUS.
I don't think Sondland has the mojo to do this, convincingly.

Watching this morning: That man has the bladder of a camel. He's emptied two pitchers of cold water so far.
The more he drinks, the more he squirms and weasels. Are we sure that's not vodka?

"What Mr. Volker says you're saying doesn't match up with what you say you are saying" -LOL

This is a good line of questioning from Sewell. She is drawing together the actual State, NSA and WH officials with illegitimate and in some cases illegal activities.

Rudi worked to get Ambassador Yovanovitch out of the way, recalled and nobody then brought Taylor into the circle of intentions regarding announcement of investigations and meeting for Zalinsky. Taylor bullied his way in and then they were stuck with him just as they would have been stuck with Yovanovitch.

So everybody, very high officials in the WH, State and NSA knew what was happening. Rudi got Yovanovitch out of the way because she was going to be a problem. They tried to keep Taylor out until they could get what they wanted out of Zalinsky and that didn't work either.

Notice, the Repugs are constantly focused on the investigations for aid scam when nobody has touched the announcement of investigations for WH visit for Zalinsky.

The Dems should just focus on the announcement for WH visit scam, the road Sewell was going down. The Dems are getting lulled into fighting the battle the Repugs want them to fight because the Repugs think there are more holes in the aid for actual investigations scam.

By the way, Sondland is the first State Dept official I have ever heard about that does not take notes. Not only does he not take notes he makes no bones about having crap for memory. That is a heck of a combination for an Ambassador.

A crony with a bad memory? Doesn’t take notes? A perfect combo for a criminal like Trump to cover his tracks... at least on paper.

Sewell is actually having her best day on the panel today. Seems to have found her sea legs.

The most important quote out of this hearing so far:

Sondland: "I've never heard from President Trump that the aid was conditioned on the investigations." He reached this conclusion on his own.

So, in short, yet another witness who can't testify to the Democrats' accusations.

<GULP>

@RepMarkMeadows
Gordon Sondland was clear: "I've never heard from President Trump that the aid (to Ukraine) was conditioned on the investigations."

So what did @realDonaldTrump say when Sondland DID talk to him?

Sondland, quoting POTUS: "I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo."

RUH ROHHHH

Strategic retreat.

All of these people are working on the same campaign, and share the same understanding that Trump want’s a public declaration of an investigation that he can waive around at his rallies.

But as yet, nobody heard Trump say that in his own words.

Of course, the summary of the phone call (the notorious non existent “transcript”) has Trump referencing it specifically while never once mentioning corruption in general.

Pinocchio's meaning....well, we know what Pinocchio's means.....:lamo

For crying out loud Speir. Stop with the WB nonsense. You are also falling into a GOP trap. Go back to the Sewell line of questioning PLEASE!

Yeah, remember how upset the fool’s gold fuhrer got when he saw Don McGhan actually taking notes?!!!!!!

I swear to God, Dems could frig up a wet dream. At least they are consistent.

It was SOOOO obvious to everybody Trump wanted a public declaration yet he never got one.
Werid.

And Zalinsky never got his WH meeting. A pressor at the frigging UN IS NOT a WH meeting.

FA.................................................. (Fewer Acronyms. What the hell is WB).

And Pence cancelled his trip to the inauguration.

Random thoughts:

The Washington Post gave House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) three Pinocchios on Wednesday for his claim that the whistleblower in the impeachment process against President Trump "has a statutory right to anonymity."

Mike Conaway is trying to justify outing whistleblowers by citing a WaPo op-ed that agrees with his Trump loving positions.
Thing is, I'd love to know why this same Republican party eagerly defended whistleblower anonymity in:

BENGHAZI
FAST AND FURIOUS
WHITEWATER
MONICA-GATE

etc etc

Jackie Speer (D-CA):
"It's interesting that Republicans are showing so much concern for the effects of public bullying on Sondland's business when these hearings are ALL ABOUT bullying, President Trump's bullying.
The President has at least FIVE Pinnochios minimum on a daily basis, so let's not go there."

And now GOP-ers are expressing concern about blowback effects on Gordon's hotel biz.
Maybe Sondland should have considered the blowback effect on his business when he purchased his diplomatic post for a million dollars.

Chris Stewart: Withholding aid is common and an everyday occurrence.
YES, it IS, but never for the purpose of enhancing one's own personal career at the expense of the American people or in contravention of the will of Congress.
It is a crime to do so according to the Constitution and is specifically named as BRIBERY.
