Imagine you could go back to three moments in history, when would you go?

Go back to the 1950's or whatever time period and record all the conversations of Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, Ludwig Von Mises, Hayek, Murray Rothbard, Thomas Sowel conversing with one another. Or debating leftists. I would find it utterly fascinating and interesting.

I like the OP's suggestion of meeting the Founding Fathers. I would love to go back in time and meet all of them as they were creating the Constitution.

Go back in time during Marcus Aurelius's reign as emperor to see how he handled being emperor and the amazing things he thought on life.

You weren't aware that Rand's conversations are archived on audio and videotape?
Yes, lots of them.

November 1967 to see Jimi Hendrix play again.

Why would you need to kill Hitler when he was young...you could simply rape him and he'd turn out completely different.

How do you know he wasn't raped, resulting in the bitter man he turned out to be?

Imagine, being able to go back in time and observe 3 events, Say no more than 18 months at a time. You couldn't CHANGE history, but you could record it, maybe take some things back with you to today.

When would go?

Back to a year before the asteroid took out the Dinosaurs, grab some eggs for your own Jurassic Park and one hell of a firework video?

Maybe View Krakatoa from a safe distance?

Prove (or disprove) the existence of Jesus?

Interview the founding fathers and find out what they really meant by the 2nd Amendment?

When and where would you love to see?

Me, the dinosaurs, Jesus and I'm torn between the entirety of 1776 and the battle of the Alamo.

How would you do this? Who cares, maybe you do a favor for the Doctor and he, sorry she gives you three free trips to the past. Maybe you just figure out a way with a microwave and some homemade plutonium, the point is, forget the how so much and just focus on the "If you could".

The places I would travel to are those that would allow me to witness things that allow me to return with clear evidence pertaining to matters of theology.
  • View Moses receiving the Ten Commandments, or, alternatively, view him and the burning bush chit chatting.
  • Witness Allah and Mohammed chatting.
  • Observe Jesus during his time in the tomb.

What a fun idea!

1. Attend Woodstock. Take copious amounts of drugs while listening to artists I've only ever been able to listen to over the radio.

2. Learn how to create 'Greek Fire'.

3. I'd go back and record everything involving the Reagan administration, so that I can more accurately gauge the shifts in GOP policy and rhetoric over the years. I would actually like to do this with several presidents, including Bill Clinton, but I can only pick one, so I choose to keep a closer eye on opposition, and Reagan seems like a good starting point when it comes to modern American politics.

I think you'd have three very boring trips.

I'd like to go back in time and have sex with my great grandmother.I want to see if she is as great as they said she was.

I would only need one day, April 20, 1889. A pillow over the infant Adolph Hitler. I would need 3 minutes, with no guilt. Though the scenario does not conform the OP's specs, a fantasy millions I know have thought.

Last edited:
1. See McCartney and Lennon working out songs alone on their acoustic guitars at their parents house before becoming famous

2. See my mom out playing with friends as a 5 year old

3. Watch myself for a day as a young boy, 3-6 years old

It's funny, most people 40 and under have tons of pics and even videos of their entire life, I have hardly any of my youth and don't think I've seen a single pic of my mom that young.

Again why such violence ?

Couldn't you take him to meet local Jews so he develops a fondness for their culture ?

Also if Hitler didn't command Germany in WWII...it might have been someone a little more competent.

Yet you suggest he may have been raped in his life...despite no evidence to support this.

A bit like a Christian believing in God.

And you have no evidence he wasn't...see how that works?

Nope, you assume the most likely until evidence to the positive is shown.

Unless you're a Christian, then you assume the God exists without evidence.

Coming from the poster that was just talking about killing the founders of this nation you crying about violence is rather pathetic

1. Jerusalem around 33 CE, so see the last week of Joshua bar Joseph.
2. Dallas 1963, to set up enough cameras to show that there was only 1 gunman.
3. Around 1600, to see what happened to the Mississippi Culture.

Given who his chief domestic rivals were, that is most definitely the case. Given the Versailles failures and the Russian Revolution, there was going to be a WW II.

Only three choices is kind of tough;

Being in Jerusalem around A.D. 30 or so is definitely up there.

Being around any point in the past where Apple and Microsoft shares were selling for pennies is also one I would like to be.

Back to when my grandfather on my mothers side would be grand, too; he died before I was born.
