If you won the lottery, won at the casino, have a lot of cash, what meal would you want to eat?

Pot roast with ketchup, mash potatoes with real gravy. And a chocolate milkshake.

Just like with meat, you'll find a lot of substitutes that are not bad at all. I came across several pasta varieties at Aldi yesterday. Haven't tried it yet, but will let you know.

Simply Nature Edamame Spaghetti | ALDI US

i'll look into that. thanks! we played around with cauliflower crust pizzas a while ago, and had a good experience with that, too.

Lets say money is no object, what are you craving? The question came to mind while watching a food show.

If you put it that way, I would love to go on a world food tour. I would go to eat country reasonably accessible and eat the best cuisine possible for a week or two.

I would definitely write a diary so I could answer this question at the end of the tour.

Lobster. With melted butter. Potato and bacon salad.

That would be fun. When the day comes...

I would invite Josh from Mythical Kitchen to come cook for me.

But he could only cook things from his Fancy Food series.

Where's the beef?

well, if you watch the video you will see that the beef is, as Bob Marley might say, e'rewhere.

If I won a **** load of money I would be flying to different places to try their food. For example I would fly down to a city that has a White Castle location(only had the frozen kind) Fly to Chicago for Uno's deep dish pizza(used to have one in town but it closed down). Go to Pittsburgh for a Primanti Brothers sandwich. Rutt Hut in Clifton New Jersey for a deep fried hotdog. And probably some other places I saw on Food Network.

We love to visit mom and pop places when we travel. Some are excellent, some not so much. I think DDD makes for a good first taste testing.

Same thing as now. Sushi and sashimi.

Save the airfare and skip White Castle and Primantis. White Castle is always a grease fest for nostalgia and after a night of drinking. Primanti bothers is a tourist trap. They aren't that good. I've had them twice because I was also expecting great things. The first time wasn't good so I gave them another chance and the second time was the same. I think that their fish sandwich is the best, but Penn Ave fish market is much better. If you are going to Bridgeburg go to The Dirty O on Forbes by U'Pitt and get an all-beef dog and their 2lbs of amazing french fries.

Rutts dogs are great. You must try a 'ripper.

I hate Fieri's frat boy antic but I've learned more than a few recipes and techniques from that show.

We love Tuna Tataki. Have you ever tried it?

Chopped and sliced style, but not ground like hamburger or pounded into a paste. However, I prefer sushi/sashimi, not tataki/seared when I'm at the sushi bar.

I get top sirloin from a Halal market, that is the best I've ever had, and slice it like sashimi and have it raw with soy sauce and horseradish. Amazingly similar in taste to maguro/tuna. A lot cheaper, too. I get it at $2.99 when on sale. I don't recommend beef from just any market.

We gave up meat, have limited seafood, but yes, know where you get your products. Europeans eat raw meat products. We tried tartar, both beef and pork. Of course the butcher shops were impeccably clean.

I eat mostly veg and cheap fish. Mushrooms (good meat replacement), broccoli, asparagus and avocado (I know, a fruit) are my favorites and all are high in protein in the veg group. Too bad I don't like Tilapia so much, because it's common on sale. But I love Basa/Swai (related to, but not actually, American catfish) which I can get at 2.99 on sale and buy a bunch to freeze for later. Tender, somewhat sweet, neutral.
