Twenty men have been found guilty of being part of a grooming gang that raped and abused girls as young as 11 in Huddersfield.
The men were convicted of more than 120 offences against 15 girls.
Victims were plied with drink and drugs and then "used and abused at will" in a seven-year "campaign of rape and abuse" between 2004 and 2011.
Link.
Just horrible.
These sickening stories need to be told and *policies have to change. All the paedophiles are Pakistani heritage - probably from the Mirpur region - and probably part of wider networks as many victims in the past spoke of being trafficked down to other towns to be raped by similar gangs.
Disclaimer - yes, I know type 1 paedophilia is still the most common paedophile crime and I know single white men (usually known to the victim) are still the greatest sexual danger to children.
*Policies - 1. do something about how vulnerable young girls were not believed when they tried to tell their stories 2. do something about the care system so they are not forgotten or end up on the streets so easily 3. challenge cultural upbringing and reeducate young men from Pakistani backgrounds about life in western liberal nations 4. specialist police officers or units to deal with and seek out these gangs across the country.
