How to prevent a would-be killer with a clean slate from purchasing firearm

According to me, and the law of supply and demand. Supply of guns goes down, and the price will go up.

who do you think is unable to get guns then?

honest poor folk living in the projects, or hard core criminal gang members?

I think everyone from from both sides of the political spectrum can agree that all places that sell guns should have background check systems. However this is likely the only prevention against stopping a would-be killer. If a potential mass murderer can go their whole lives without showing signs of mental illness, uncontrollable rage or violence, or doesn’t give indications of violent ideas and plans then they can buy as many guns and ammo with no restrictions.

So here’s my question for all you: How could we prevent someone who is planning mass shooting yet has a clean slate from obtaining weapons legally?

Call the psychic hotline or Bureau of Pre-Crime apprehension.

1.) yes you have made your meaningless feelings clear
2.) nope NOTHING about the law of supply and demand makes your claim factually a necessity. You FEEL it is but it doesnt make it one. Nobody cares about your feelings i asked you for facts that make your claim true and you have ZERO so far. This isnt rocket science lol

heres your failed statement again:

so here we are in the same spot
according to who and what facts

Is that so? Because the law of supply and demand clearly states that the supply of an item will affect its ultimate price. Therefore, if the supply of guns goes down, their price will rise. Agreed?

lol this so much fun,i could od this all night
1.) yes its a fact, your inability to grasp if doesnt change that :)
2.) meaningless, nothing you said makes it a necessity, you just feel it is because YOU think its what is needed . . but unfortunately for your failed claims theres nothing that makes it so

so once again according to who and what facts

There is much flawed logic here.
First we can not even stop convicted felons, banned in every state from possessing firearms from having them. In fact they are responsible for about 90% of all gun violence. So it is quite obvious you can not prevent anyone intent on obtaining a firearm from getting one.
Second, are you assuming that without a gun some nut job in not going to harm people? If that is your assumption, look at knife violence in London.
Third, you are trying to create a problem where none exists.
Study(psychiatryonline.org) after study(ScienceDirect.com | Science, health and medical journals, full text articles and books.) has demonstrated that people with mental health issues commit only a miniscule percentage of mass shootings and account for less than 1% of annual gun homicides.

On the contrary, I think it is you who already decided your opinion, before this discussion, that nothing I could say would possibly make any difference to you. But that's fine, I'm not seeking satisfaction here, it is merely on principle that I continue, for the sake of discussion. But if you are expecting some kind of rise from me you will be disappointed.

Both, and neither. Guns will still be on the market, but harder to obtain and more expensive.

1.) again your thoughts are meaningless when discussing facts just like mine
2.) it has nothing to do with "me" this is where you keep making your mistake. It has to do with facts
3.) never said you were and again nor does it matter to facts
4.) aaaaaand another fail though of yours that is factually wrong and doesnt matter

so here we are in the same spot according to who and what facts

you really don't care about disarming criminals-your goal is harassing legal gun ownership

You can't. That's why we oppose all those laws. They don't prevent anything.

Then I will say the same thing. The price of an item is directly tied to supply and demand. If supply drops, price rises. And if guns are more expensive, fewer people can afford them.

The vast majority of illegal guns were sold legally at least once. How do you think they got on the black market to begin with?

You can't. That's why we oppose all those laws. They don't prevent anything.

They don't accomplish the stated goals of their supporters-which are facades anyway. They do achieve the real goals of their supporters-harassing lawful gun owners and gun ownership

Why don't you just come out and say it-if we ban all legal gun ownership, then criminals won't get guns. That is a lie of course, but it is what you are really stating.

and if the price rises, more people will get into the market of supplying a desired object. that's also economics.

I wouldn't say that because that isn't true. I'm sure some people would still be able to get guns, however, they would be more expensive and harder to find, therefore fewer people would have them.

like Heroin and crack?

That is true, however the manufacture of and supply of illegal firearms will never be able to match the level of what can be supplied without restrictions.

1.) awesome then my entertainment will continue and it will fail and be just as meaningless as the first time you said it
2.) meaningless to your claim of necessity

Exactly like heroin and crack, or do you seriously believe that law enforcement doesn't make drugs more expensive? Because it does.

it also creates massive violence, many collateral criminal activities, and governmental corruption. And when you ban something that is easily supplied, you don't remove the item from those most likely to violate the laws.

gun control laws are not crime control laws--they are a cultural weapon leftwing activists use to attack their political enemies and to pander to stupid people

and that won't affect criminals and those who need guns for their criminal enterprises.

So now that we have established that price of guns will rise as supply decreases, we can further understand that illegal guns almost always come from legal sources, at least initially. Therefore, if legal sources of guns are dimimished, it will decrease availability and increase price of black market guns.

and that won't affect criminals and those who need guns for their criminal enterprises.

Of course it will, if they have to rely solely on illegally produced guns rather than legal ones, their available pool will be much smaller, and the prices will be much higher.

Prohibition does not actually require locking people up or destroying their lives.

Yes it does. Drug prohibition in the US has resulted in the highest incarceration rate in the world. The drug war is public control of the means of production regarding certain politically incorrect drugs, i.e. socialism. The law which created the modern drug war is literally called "The Controlled Substances Act".

It merely requires confiscating the drugs, and then allowing economics to do the rest.

No, it requires prison sentences to deter people from buying and selling the prohibited good. Drug laws and gun laws are both merely "crimes" against the state, as neither drug use nor gun ownership directly harm anyone. Criminalizing peaceful behavior is really just a form of social engineering, which, of course, the left is very fond of.
