How to enforce social distancing

I was excited about this until I learned he doesn't turn it on.

I just love this brainstorming. Shouldn't be a necessity among thinking people, but alas, not everyone is thinking. Adding alcohol to the mix makes it almost mandatory to erect a barrier.
I eat lots of garlic and don't wash before going out. It works for the most part.

Don't piss on the electric fence!

Social distancing is SELF-ENFORCEABLE.

All YOU have to do is maintain whatever distance YOU wish.

Meanwhile, when it comes to what happens in a business, that is enforceable by any business on the basis of "we can refuse service to anyone who..."

What becomes authoritarian IMHO is telling other people what THEY need to do to protect YOU out in public.

Self-defense in any form is a self-enforceable right. YOU maintain spacing; YOU wear a mask; YOU refuse service in your business, or acess to your home or other property unless clients, visitors, and customers follow the rules on your property.

If I want to engage, then I either adhere to your requirements to do business, etc., or I can go elsewhere.

It was light hearted post. You must be the life of the party. :coffeepap

The best way for him to trick people into thinking it is electrified is to do a press release that it isn't. What an idiot.

Sorry, it wasn't posted in the "humor" section, so I took the thread title seriously, and the body/link as sarcastic rather than a simple attempt at humor.

Also a lot of caps in your post, not so humble. Not everything is to be taken so seriously. See all the other posts.

So you don't care then if OTHER people drive without speed limits while drunk - it's up to THEM. Can't believe our authoritarian government has laws against it.

Red Herring deflection...denied.

You do not believe anything you read in regular news, so I am shocked (pun intended) this did not work on you.

:coffeepap:

Not a red herring, what has been shown is your hypocrisy. You are ok with the govenrment mandating speed limits and anti-drunk driving measures but not OK with the government mandating masks. Your hypocritical comments are on display for all to see. Trump supporters have shown themselves to produce the most hypocritical comments as yourself just did. What's funny is that you are against the measures that have flattened the curve in the EU but America continues to increase cases.

The only thing denied is your comments having any intelligence value whatsoever. Are you an anti-vaxer and birther as well? :coffeepap

I once knew a guy that worked for a large medical diagnostics equipment manufacturer, that had all kinds of bio-hazard, x-ray, and radio-isotope equipment and agents.

He used to put a "radiactive" sticker on the door of his group's tool & supply closet, because he got tired of other groups coming-in and raiding his stuff. He claims it was effective.

(sigh)

It's a "red herring" because the only reason the government can regulate drunk driving, speed limits, and licensing is because driving is a regulated privilege, based upon the use of public roads.

Note that they cannot regulate "drunk driving," or require a license on private property. Moreover, you are not BORN with a car around your body.

You are born with your physical body which (usually) includes two legs and the ability to ambulate. So walking around in public is a natural right. It can only be regulated on private property and those specific segments of land/property designated restricted government property off limits without permission.

However AUTHORITARIANS always want to push the ability of government to place limits on individual rights. Why? Because in this way they can compel people to do what they want them to, think what they want them to think, and support what they want supported...or else.

As I see it, walking around in public is a natural right. If you are so worried, simply act to protect yourself as I've already posted.

What do YOU do when people crowd your space, without a mask, in line at an ‘essential’ business.

My typical response has been to loudly wish the cashier ‘good luck dealing with your customers’.

Only one country on this Planet is dumber and more obnoxious than we are. That would be the one burning down their Amazon Forest.

I can do several things.

1. Politely ask the person to step back.

2. Place my cart between myself and the pushy person.

3. Step out of line and do my shopping elsewhere.

I am sure I could think of other things...but again, I am responsible for what I do, not what you do.

Okay.

That is a very partisan view...but when it comes to those of our citizens on the Left, many politicians (mostly, but not all, Democrat) and the strange views they keep pushing? I might agree with you. :coffeepap:

True, but when a business ignores social distancing they don't just effect the patrons in their establishment, they are doing harm to the community, and that also can't be tolerated.

Au contraire, it can be tolerated by those who choose to use that business' services.

Meanwhile, both you and anyone who feels the way you do are free to do your business elsewhere.

Remember the post you quoted lists YOUR rights to act or not as you see fit.
