I could turn your claims and replace your god with any number of mythological god and they would be just as valid with those myths as they are with your god. Why should we believe that your god exists and yet it is a fact that Ra, Thor, Jupiter, and Zeus do not? Your beliefs and faith do so create fact? I can equally believe that 1+1=11, but it doesn't make it true.

I guess young men growing up in the church now know that the Ten Commandments can be ignored, money changing and grubbing is good, marital vows are not meant to be taken seriously, and it's okay to bear false witness against your neighbors. They are seeing the absolute hypocrisy and the fact that religious conservatives will make any excuse and lie for Trump and these people want nothing part of the Christian religion. Donald Trump is forcing people to reexamine their religious views because of the Christians who support Donald Trump who make excuses for him on a daily basis and hold him out as some sort of religious hero, then they want nothing to do with Christianity.

I left the Catholic church in 1990 when it because obvious that the catholic church was hiding pedophiles and making excuses for them instead of handing them over for prosecution. I will not be party to any group who attacks women and LGBT but defends rapists and pedophiles. I will not follow the moral teachings of silk-clad hypocrites. I don't need to belive in an unproven god of pedophiles and hypocrites to be a moral person when morality is not based on religious belief.

What do you have to support that claim? Hillary has always been a fan of Wall Street and was a rational person. Do you sincerely believe that Hillary was a closet lefty? Saul/Paul was a practicing Jew. So was the historical Jesus a Jew and never a Christian. Jesus also happened to voice what today would be called socialistic ideas and solutions for the poor and ill. But that's for another thread.

Non-practicing =/= irreligious =/= atheist. Irreligious means having no organised religious beliefs but perhaps being spiritualistic or entertaining some supernatural beliefs. Non-practicing means believing in a creed but not participating in the full spectrum of regular rituals of that creed. Atheist is engaging in the act of faith - that there is no divine - and having certainty in that act of faith in no divinity. So try to use the adjectives of faith correctly to avoid confusion.
