Firstly, as a multi-generational cradle Catholic who understand & respects the power of prayer, I encourage you to continue in prayer, and with as many family members as possible.

But your logic here, is way off base in my opinion.

I'd suggest following whatever you pray for, with asking for guidance, illumination, and "your will be done". Pray for God's way, not yours. At least that's my take on it.

In my opinion "God's way is through suffering as we are meant to suffer so that we can become better people". Trump is the ultimate test of suffering. He is the Devil. If we fail to get rid of evil, we will end up in hell with the Devil. If we meet the test and get rid of Trump, we will have passed the ultimate test!

Then when the result happened, I decided to clean things up a bit, and become fervent in my prayers. So I said the Rosary every single day for the next four years, without exception. Every day. Took me 20-30 minutes a day. I offered the Rosary as prayer as I requested various things; protection for my family, well-being for friends and those who were sick, for the souls of loved ones. But I always ended by praying for the country, specifically for the 2016 election, that Hillary would lose.


I was FERVENT in my prayers. "Please, God. PLEASE spare the country. PLEASE don't allow the Supreme Court to go nutty left. Please help the unborn, God. Please. You can't possibly allow that evil woman to win. All the hatred and lies and criminal activity by her CANNOT be rewarded, God. PLEASE!!!!"


So all during 2015 and 2016, the media had Trump in trouble. Couldn't win the nomination. About to quit. This new scandal will be the one that does him in. On and on it went. They had him with a 90% chance to lose. Even the day before the election, they had him ten points down. No chance of winning. The exit polls, according to the early evening telecasts, had a huge Hillary win.


Still I kept on praying.


Then the tide suddenly turned. The most unlikely thing happened. From the ashes, Trump emerged the victor. Prayer worked. Fervent strong prayer every single day.


That episode confirmed for me the power of prayer and existence of God for me. God listened and answered. And I suspect a lot more than me were praying just as hard.

You don't really know what he's done or hasn't done in his personal life. But of the things we observe in his personal life, you can see the man is reliable. He has kept all his campaign promises. The way he has government shows nothing BUT concern for others, starting with a job market he created that has unemployment at its lowest in history for blacks and hispanics, and the lowest overall unemployment in 50 years. In Trump's entire life he has never contributed to any charity or done a good deed that was not associated with publicity for himself (contrary to Warren Buffett who has contributed Billions without a shred of publicity associated with the giving).

This is also a man that has cheated on all of his wives and who is willing to separate children from their mothers and parents "without keeping track of where they are sent so their can reunite in the future". This is a man that debased a war hero (John McCain) who gave everything he had (including his freedom for himself) only because McCain did not agree with what Trump was doing.

If you can show me one single thing that Trump has done for others that did not benefit him first, I will stand back.

By the way, as far as "keeping his promises", that is pure bunk. He has kept 2 of them. Every other one he has not kept (such as infrastructure spending, Mexico paying for the wall) or has been incompetent (trade war) or he just plain lied (I will keep Social Security and Medicare untouched).

Last but not least, Obama took unemployment down from 9.1% to 4.7% and Trump inherited that trend. The tax cut helped to make it better but the tax cut was done by the Republican Congress and NOT TRUMP. He did nothing to accomplish it. It wasn't even his idea. The Republicans had that as their platform in 2012 before Trump was in the picture.
