I have noticed all this from the TV.
Of course. You are a liberal, all of your opinions come from the TV. You wouldn't dare form one on your own.
I have noticed all this from the TV.
I will admit I find Bret Baeir's Special Report to be pretty good, generally with good panels, and holding to a high level of decorum. I really respect this last (decorum). I try to make it a nightly view.
I also liked Shep Smith, but alas he is no more.
As an aside, I used to like Lou Dobbs when he was on CNN, but now I can't stand his Fox persona.
I don't agree with this, at all. MSNBC is the only real Lefty of the group, with the others being more centered. And all present their news much more factually than say Fox or other R.W. outlets like Sinclair. As to their perceived Left leans, everything seems Left compared the the current hard Right shift in the R.W. media of recent years. At least in my opinion.
Are you referring to print or cable, here? I was speaking to cable.Fox uses a clever technique. Check it out for yourself if you can stomach it.
The pepper the hard news reporting with ads for their commentary segments that include the narratives they want the news interpreted by.
So the news is factual, but the ads contain the propaganda messaging.
Which allows their viewers to truthfully say that the hard news is all factual, while adopting the desired perspective suggested by the ads.
AM radio has been taken over by "Conservative Christian" stations, there are no normal stations left in my area anyway. The hosts who dare to veer off the Trump train with any truthful news, thoughts or opinions, are swiftly removed from the air and replaced with loyal Trump cult windbags who just spew hate and lies. Old people still like to carry their small AM radios with them for company, and there is no choice but for them to listen to this conspiracy crapola day and night. That's part of Trump's base, gullible and no longer can think for themselves. Pity, really.
Remember Pavlov and the dogs?
Pavlov was a Skinnerite.
Skinner is the guy who was working on ways to condition the masses to be harder working, more compliant workers.
They would be so proud of what conservatives have done with their research.
Of course. You are a liberal, all of your opinions come from the TV. You wouldn't dare form one on your own.
Doesn't really matter.
You still come here with exactly the same narratives as they promulgate on Fox.
Because conservative media is monolithic and only appears "independent".
This seems to happen to a lot of old people who fall into this dark rabbit hole, they become angry, paranoid, hateful and basically brainwashed by the right-wing media. They hear the lies and conspiracies so much, that they begin to believe all of them as truth.

This individual did change their opinions though. That is the point. He went from respecting gays to "dont want it in my face", which is very different. You seem to be treating the OP as an accurate description of something that happened in the real world, vs the perspective of a person with serious delusions about how the world works. Presumably this is because you share the same delusions.
Back on planet Earth, the general reason why rational people appear to become more conservative as they age, is because of the country’s slide to the left. This phenomenon can happen without the individual actually changing any of their opinions.
Because liberals are generally emotive thinkers, they can’t understand how a person can hold opinions not conforming to those of the herd. Out of this incomprehension comes the familiar trope whereby non-conforming thought is attributed to mysterious bogeyman (e.g. “brainwashing” by right-wing media). This is one of the above-mentioned delusions.
Taken over? So there is no free market?

What you are describing is society changing around someone as they age and them being unwilling to change their beliefs. While that does happen, it isnt everyone. Many like this man held different beliefs, views before they started listening to certain people, reading certain "facts", which changed their views.

My FIL passed last April. I hate to say it, but my MIL has become far saner since.
Twenty odd years ago when I met my now-wife, we'd regularly visit for dinners and talk. They seemed reasonable, intelligent, somewhere around the middle. But they started watching Fox. It got worse and worse. We eventually had to make a rule saying no political talk because it'd end up being a big shouting match. They'd spout off with something crazy about needing Obama's real birth certificate, etc. But since he passed, we haven't found Fox on when we've visited. She's increasingly moderated her views. If COVID happened 5 years ago, she'd have certainly been on about how it's clearly just a hoax/exaggeration by "liberals"; instead she took it very seriously.
Fox really is a poison. Straight-propaganda. Which is of course why Fox instructs its viewers to call anything that contradicts it "fake news".[/QUOTE
Thanks for sharing that Mr. Person. I agree, Fox tends to work its viewers into a frenzy, an angry, aggressive, paranoid frenzy.....and that's never a good thing.

The people with "news, thoughts, and opinions" get booted off the air because their ratings suck. And no, old people do not carry transistor radios with them, that is so last century. We have cars with radios in them.
Well, there was before Trump and his minions turned the entire US economy into a killing field for his enemies and money tree for his family and friends. The only way we will ever get our free markets back is to allow Democrats to control them from top to bottom. The only way we can ever be truly free is to elect Social Progressives and let them to punish everyone that seeks to have their own freedom instead of that freedom which a benevolent, wise and caring government decides is appropriate.
Taken over as in dominate, nota bene. Conservative Christian AM radio stations have dominated the airways daily, spewing hateful violence, conspiracy theories and disinformation. Hence....the issue with old people getting brainwashed by the angry, untruthful hosts.
He went from respecting gays to "dont want it in my face", which is very different.

That's what happens when you report the news. Something happened and everybody agreed on what it was. That's a good thing.
No. It was a contradiction from what was described by his daughter, what she observed. She certainly could be lying, but likely not given what ive seen. That isn't a contradiction, it's just a (relatively common) POV you've apparently never been exposed to.

But that's not what happens.
Consumers of conservative media have a recent history distinct from that of the rest of the world.
It's why they're so angry all the time.
It's chock full.of horrible things that liberals did that never actually happened.
