We hear that a lot...especially when a 'mass shooting' occurs. Yet the reality is that in virtually all of those cases where mental health is addressed as a concern, the individuals not only had access to mental health care but where in fact in treatment.

This is the question I propose. So much focus is always on how we destroy the terrorists/organizations that already exist. So little focus is on how we prevent future recruitment.

Thats kind of the problem on only focusing on Islamic terrorists. Its becomes easy to lose sight of what goes on around us daily.

Bill Ayers is a perfect example. College educated, affluent, became a social activist, and from that group became a terrorist and as a group they began blowing up buildings. Frankly, at the current pace, our universities are breeding grounds for potential terrorists.

We stop the recruitment of terrorists by not killing innocent civilians. Look at what the media made of the Manchester attack. A horrible act of terrorism. Our airstrikes kill that many civilians almost every day. Brushing it off as collateral damage only strengthens recruitment. If was want to claim the moral high ground we actually have to take the moral high ground. But that means more boots on the ground and more of our forces being at risk. But it is what it is.

How is it any different than tailing a suspect? If police have a warrant to install a camera in your bathroom then it isn't a violation of rights.

I never said police cannot/should not get a warrant to install cameras in religious institutions suspected of illegal activities. They already do. What some are advocating for (including you, I suspect) is for cameras in ALL mosques despite the fact that is religious discrimination. There must be reasonable suspicion to receive a warrant. A judge who cares about the Constitution is not going to hand over the warrant because the police say, "Well, they're Muslim."

Tough question. We already destabilized the middle east and left behind a terrible mess. Our leaders knew this would happen. Part of me does say help rebuild and stabilize the country, but not with our western dictates. If they don't want to open up their markets by giving their resources to multinationals, stay out of their elections. A big yes to building up their educational systems. We at least owe many of these countries, we tore apart, something so essential. With education, they won't need to have so much radicalization.
