House passes sweeping anti-discrimination bill to expand protections of LGBT people

It's not decided that the state would have supported the Church here.

However I am on the fence here and probably agree with the law, even if I dont like it.

You don't like that the Government should not be able to limit free expression of religion and speech?

The forum records what you asked.

Dude, agentj is incapable, and I mean mentally incapable of introspection. It literally isn't part of his brains' executive function. Ask anyone that is a reasonable poster on this forum about him. He makes claims as fact that are opinion, and when he's met with a crystal clear challenge that is incontrovertible he simply denies the record even exists. I don't know what he's thinking, and the only thing I can come up with is that he prays on the notion that people who read these pages simply have no desire to go back and look at the record to see how badly he was defeated in his arguments. He's never won one single argument I've had with this dude, not a single one, yet according to him, he's defeated me every single time..

I don't know what it is about him that lures me back; normally I would just laugh and walk away, but it's as if I feel the need to help him. Like a lost dog or something. Most people like him can at least acknowledge that they might be wrong about something, maybe even if it's just a small point, but not him. Most people will concede a point here or there eventually and pivot to another approach. That's generally how real debates go, but not him. I'm telling you, it's freaking weird, almost like he's a computer program that's trying to pass the "Turing-test", or maybe more accurately he's the guy in the "Chinese-room".. ;)

Actually, I quoted the proposed bill. Quotes from the proposed legislation isnt "feelings". But thats what you label any facts you cannot accept.

This is nothing more or less than the attempt back in the 1970's when the anti-religious haters attempted to pass the Equal Rights Amendment. Had that passed back then, we would be where we are today with homosexual and transgendered confusion in society back then. Not knowing which bathroom to use or hold it until you get home. Not knowing whether to join the boys team or the girls team. Destroying the 1st Amendment of the freedom of religion and free expression of religion, as well as free speech. I agree with Martina that this just hurts people and society in general.

Equal rights is anti-Christian?

House approves sweeping bill to expand gay rights

Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo., called the legislation "grossly misnamed" and said it is "anything but equalizing."

The bill "hijacks" the 1964 Civil Rights Act to create "a brave new world of 'discrimination' based on undefined terms of sexual orientation and gender identity," Hartzler said. The legislation threatens women's sports, shelters and schools, and could silence female athletes, domestic abuse survivors and other women, she said.

Some critics also said the bill could jeopardize Title IX, the law prohibiting sex discrimination in federally funded education programs. Former tennis star Martina Navratilova co-wrote an opinion piece in The Washington Post urging lawmakers not to "make the unnecessary and ironic mistake of sacrificing the enormously valuable social good that is female sports in their effort to secure the rights of transgender women and girls."

She is hostile to transgender athletes.

I think her motivation is because transgender athletes are hostile to women. It's a bit surprising to see socialist Progressives reveal their similar hostility towards women.

How are they hostile to women?

Equal rights is anti-Christian?

These favored classifications of people written into the law are unequal by design and application. If a gay boss in a fit of rage fires a grossly negligent employee by yelling "You are ****ing fired, breeder", no one thinks anything of it. Same scenario with a heterosexual boss who yells "You are ****ing fired, fa##ot" and the homosexual has a likely, lucrative law suit to file. The breeder does not. Or the simple assaults that are turned into hate crimes because the perp called his victim fa##ot or Ni##er while assaulting him, while 100 or more times a man calls a woman bi##h or CU#T while assaulting and its a normal assault. Or elite colleges where racial discrimination against blacks is intolerable while racial discrimination against orientals is policy. Equal right are more equal for some than they are for others in the US.

Equal rights is anti-Christian?

While we are all loved equally by our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, we also have our differences. We aren't "Congruent." We have different talents and abilities. And, with this understanding, we also have been given the ultimate gift from God, our free moral agency to choose good or evil. But, with that, comes the responsibilities to keep God's Doctrines and Commandments he gives us through his servants, the Prophets (Includes Apostles). These don't come through social norms, political leaders, ministers... The Bible has those Doctrines and Commandment in which one Commandment not to do is engage in homosexual activities spelled out in Romans Chapter 1. Now, if people engage in this kind of behavior, it's Christian to warn people of the consequences of such behavior and it's Christian to not physically or mentally attack them but as Christ says, love your enemy and your neighbors. Love one another. But, that doesn't mean to accept the behavior as something good for the public or community in general.

Also, our final resting place according to 1st Corinthians chapter 15 says there is not an equal final resting place. There is a good place, better place and best place. Sun, moon, stars. Celestial Glory, Terrestrial Glory and Telestial Glory. In fact, our bodies will be different depending which glory or kingdom we end up in. This is up to God where we end up. But, he does tell us what is necessary to gain Celestial Glory. Keep all the Commandments!

Its a shame that things are so partisan that this will be shot down in the senate or by Trump himself but at least its being tried and rightfully so. Good Job!!!
Regardless full and equal civil rights protections for LGBT will happen in my life time and its an awesome thing equality is winning and bigotry is dying.

what is the equality act?
Equality Act (United States) - Wikipedia
I'm glad for this bill. It's never ok to discriminate against any birth defect. We should be an inclusive and accommodating society. Having won the marriage fight, homosexual people should also have full access to adoption, military service, discrimination protection, and other rights. This is a good day for America.

All Trump and the republonitwits have to do is say that we cannot support a bill that allows biological males to compete with biological females.. Done, win, drop the mic. The majority of American (yes dimwits too) despise what's happening to girls athletics.. It's a none loser for the GOP, are they smart enough to read the leaves?

Tim-
If you don't like it, don't watch it. If enough people are like-minded then ratings and revenue will drop and the industry will change its rules. If there aren't enough like-minded people to do that, then consider the posability that you may be in the wrong for disliking it.

There are already laws against this. However, if the person is working for a Church, then there is the 1st Amendment that protects the Church on having to have someone gay work for them. Other than that, the laws prohibit firing someone for being gay. But, why would someone want to continue to work in that job if the boss hates you? Get a new job!
There are a lot of magic sky pixie temples that accept gays.

The problem with this new approach is how it destroys opportunities for many women. I think that has to be addressed.

The quest for equality shouldn't leave woman strewn by the side of the road.
