The House Judiciary Committee has hired two veteran attorneys, Norm Eisen and Barry Berke, both of whom have been outspoken critics of Donald Trump. The House Judiciary Committee led by Chairman Jerry Nadler, is investigating possible 'white collar' crimes involving Trump, including ethics violations, corruption and possible obstruction of justice. This is separate from those of the Mueller investigation. These investigations are going to be Trump's worst nightmares.

House Judiciary Committee Hires Trump Legal Critics for Investigations

Feb. 12, 2019

WASHINGTON — Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee said on Tuesday that they have retained two elite white collar litigators and prominent legal critics of President Trump to help begin inquiries into some of the most sensitive allegations involving the president, including ethics violations, corruption and possible obstruction of justice.

The committee’s chairman, Representative Jerrold Nadler of New York, has not committed to opening a formal impeachment inquiry, but the addition of the two lawyers, Norman L. Eisen and Barry H. Berke, indicates that the Democrats do not intend to wait for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, to finish his work to begin weighing issues that could ultimately be wrapped up in such a proceeding.

Moving back and forth between The Hill and the WH is quite common. A think tank or lobbying firm, law firm or PR firm is often the next step in a non-elective career in "federal" Washington.

Doesn't matter. All they want to do is raise more spin, speculation, hyperbole and innuendo. 2020, remember?

For the past two years under Republican control of the House, the big 'boogieman' has been Robert Mueller. In fact the real boogieman all along, the serious threat to Trump's future has always been under the purview of the House of Representatives. The republican investigations have been nothing but a sham engineered by the republican controlled House. Things are going to be far different now and all those crimes such as money laundering, racketeering, obstruction of justice and the like will be investigated properly and there will be articles of impeachment drawn up as the investigations wind down.

You really should go back and look at what the Republican House did...what they investigated. Don't get sucked in by the media and their "boogiemen".

Under Nunes, they investigated Trump/Russia and found nothing. Then he, and other House committees turned their attention to actions by the Obama administration, such as FISA abuse, the FBI's email investigation, wiretapping, etc. None of that had anything to do with the Mueller investigation. They have conducted zero investigations into Mueller.

Anyway, the House has no intention of impeaching Trump. They want him to run in 2020.

No, they want to investigate potential conflicts of interest and criminality.

I can see why you'd be compelled otherwise.

LOL! The house investigation was a sham. You have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about.

Their investigation was going through the motions, the republicans had no intention at all of findihg out anything. Then we had Devin Nunes caught red-handed on his midnight run to the White House. The republicans refused to subpoena people that claimed 'executive privilege' like Hope Hicks and Corey Lewandowski and even Donald Jr. refused to answer questions. Well, they're all going to be returning for the REAL investigation now and if it's going to take a subpoena to get them there, then those subpoenas are all ready to go out.

You're right... now they will be nothing but a sham engineered by the Democrat-controlled House.

shrug...

They are free to investigate a person in search of a crime. They won't find one. The best they hope for is something that can be spun into an embarrassment for the President.

It's fun to watch people pretend that it's a witchhunt w/nothing to find as a self-defense mechanism.

No, we've already seen the shameless protectionism on full display by the Trump enablers. Now we'll see testimony come to the House from people that will actually have to answer the questions and not dismissed by republicans who didn't want answers. Now you're going to see pages of documents supporting money laundering, campaign finance violations, extortion and more. And the documentation will be verified and sent to the SDNY for prosecution.

Good times.

It will all be a sham. Political theatre for mindless sheep to lap up.

Trump has faced a lot of these types of "worst nightmares" over the past couple years. It never quite comes to pass.

No they want him to run while be is dealing with impeachment proceedings...

You really don't think that digging into trumps financial dealings won't uncover crimes?!? :lamo:lamo:lamo

Even for a cultist you are a special kind of naïve...

There's already been a lot of digging...no crimes. Why should the House find any?

Heck, they know they won't find anything. That's why they are desperate to get the complete, unredacted Mueller report...that they won't get...and tax records. They are hoping there's something there.

But hey...they'll be satisfied to get stuff they can get to the media for a spin job and to manipulate public opinion.

Seriously, those House Dems are willing to use their government power to combat Trump's election process. Abuse of power and they aren't even trying to hide it.

Of course they will find something. They'll claim some tax wasn't paid or not paid in full. Somebody else will say it was. Maybe they will say somebody else committed perjury in front of them.
And onward.

Again you are being naive if you think Mueller is not racking up charges on trump...

Kind of tough to see how. He is not charging anyone for their role in a conspiracy to thwart the election.

You are dreaming if you think he is.

Trump has faced a lot of these types of "worst nightmares" over the past couple years. It never quite comes to pass.

No, Congress didn't proceed with an honest and thorough investigation. The shameful lackluster 'investigation' done by the Republican-led committees have shown to be nothing more than going through the motions to give the public an appearance that they were doing their job of oversight. It was a waste of taxpayer money and time, but it served one purpose, that was to convince Trump's base that something was being done and that their investigations would ultimately prove Trump's innocence in the matter of collusion or conspiracy.

Specifically, the investigation done by the House Intelligence Committee led by Devin Nunes called witnesses to testify but when some of those witnesses refused to cooperate by answering questions, they were never compelled to do so. Corey Lewandowski, Hope Hicks and Steve Bannon are three witnesses that may be called back and subpoenaed to answer questions under oath that the previously refused to answer. The appeals of Democrats on that committee to either call further witnesses or use subpoenas to compel people to answer questions were rejected by the Republican-led committee. In April 2018, The House intelligence committee concluded its Russia investigation and release a heavily redacted copy of its full report clearing Trump's campaign of any wrongdoing.

https://apps.npr.org/documents/document.html?id=4448589-Hpsci-Declassified-Committee-Report-Redacted

Intelligence committee ranking Democrat Adam Schiff complained about the limitations on witness interviews, the avenues of investigation the committee didn't pursue, the subpoenas it couldn't issue and other restrictions that he said meant Republicans didn't lead a real process. Quote: "It’s ultimately up to Robert Mueller to determine if there is a crime. But Democrats have a separate obligation “to make sure that the president of the United States is working in the national interest, that he is not motivated by some pecuniary interest, or fear of compromise or actual compromise." The investigation led under the direction of Adam Schiff will go into the financials of Trump and will also subpoena those witnesses who were previously unwilling to be forthcoming.

this just out both the republican and democrats in the senate intelligence committee have found no evidence that trump colluded with russia.
they just finished issuing their report after 200 interviews lmao.

this confirms the past house finding on the matter.

talk about collusion and interfering with a federal election i think schiff is at the top of the list for those charges.
talk about conflict of interest when you hiring 2 investigators that already have an inherent bias against the person they are investigating.

looks like mueller on steriods.

this is just another sham from slum dog leftists to unseat a duly elected president.
they are still butt hurt that hillary lost a fair election.

schiff just received the worsts news possible that shows this is nothing more than a dog and pony show when the
both democrat and republicans of the senate intelligence committee found no evidence in collusion in 200 witnesses.

lmao this whole thing is a sham and only sheep believe there is anything there.
