House Democrats have introduced a number of new gun control measures in the wake of a deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Among the proposals are HR.3962 to ban online ammunition sales, H.R. 4025 requiring gun dealers to report the sale of two or more rifles to the same person in a five-day period, and HR. 4052, which would ban magazines able to hold greater than 10 rounds.

So buying a crate of 7.62 x 39, or any other ammunition at wholesale online by the crate would get you reported to the government???? That is if it is even still legal???

This is ridicules. Millions of gun owners buy this much and more locally and online because we tend to go to the range a lot. This is total bullshit. If the Republicans know what's good for them they will not do this "bipartisan" crap on these.

As usual, they're proposing a laundry list of pet projects which would have done absolutely nothing to stop any of the shootings they're supposedly motivated by. Why are they looking for their keys under the street lamp instead of in the alley where they lost them? Because the light's better over there.

unconstitutional and will never pass congress.

As someone who identifies as a liberal, I think this is so ****ing stupid. Why do Democrats insist on trying to push these ridiculous gun control measures?

Stop it. You aren't helping anyone by trying to pass these stupid regulations.

Purely idiotic by the Dems that support these bills. I buy ammo in bulk because it’s a better deal than what I can get in the store. I usually buy ammo 2-3 times a year and they are large orders. That’s the point so I only have to buy 2-3 times a year sheesh.

There are plenty of other more important issues the Dems need to be focusing on and this isn’t one of them.

the main goal of democrats is to make recreational and sport shooting too much a hassle for honest people and thus killing off the NRA and other pro gun groups who vote against the bannerrhoid party. Its a vicious circle. and right now the Democrats are all about payback

Is this to prevent people who obtained firearms illegally from purchasing ammunition easy? If that's the case, its pointless since no background checks are required to purchase ammunition.

I hope the republicans tell the democrats to shove it out their ass on this one. Although I got to wonder if this is the democrat's version of the deliberate DOA obama-care repeal bill that republicans would try to pass when Obama was in office.

Being a liberal isn't a bar to championing the Second Amendment.......as you have proven.

many people react to guns with knee jerk reflex regardless of political lean.

Im thinking this......so when it dies a gruesome death, the Dems can say "See!! The Republicans did this, we tried to help"......its an old ploy; both sides do it.

The magazine ban makes no sense but I have no problem with ATF being notified of who is stockpiling guns. Just depends on what they do with that notification

They already know every weapon you buy from a dealer. The dealer has to have a background check done for every sale. That background check includes the weapon type and serial number. So it is just more bureaucracy and waste.

40% of sales don't involve a dealer

40% of sales don't involve a dealer

So what? That is completely irrelevant to your comment or my responce. Wonderful red herring though.

So tell me. Since those 40% are not reported, how would this law affect that?

It wouldn't. That would require another law or a change to this one

So nothing.

Thanks.

the brady law has been in place for 24 years now-and there is no evidence it has done anything useful to decrease violent crime

Of course. However people such as Vegas don't care if it works or not, they have a political agenda, period.

yep-to them a gun law's efficacy is not if it decreases crime but if it harasses lawful gun owners

If my political agenda is saving lives....then guilty as charged

But we know gun laws reduced gun deaths .....that has been proven over and over year in and year out

This thread is not about you. I used you as an example, nothing more. So I am not going to get into a silly argument about your faux rage.

Thanks for playing.
