Hickenlooper drops out of presidential race and says he might run for Senate

ormer Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper ended his presidential campaign on Thursday and said he was giving "serious thought" to a Senate bid.

"Today, I’m ending my campaign for president," Hickenlooper announced in a video posted to Twitter. "But I will never stop believing that America can only move forward when we work together."

Good for him. Hopefully at least a dozen others quickly follow suit.
 
I look forward to him as the states Senator in 2121.

Meh, I think he could have been a good choice, I always thought that governor's make a good pool to pull from when looking for President. And he was running more moderate than the others. But it's hard to generate the publicity. I hope the Dems pick someone good and don't give us another 4 years of Trump.

If the Republicans flip back Alabama, the Democrats will need either four seats plus the Presidency, or a five seat for a straight majority without the WH, which is a very hard feat as things stand at the moment.

Colorado and Maine are goners, but it's an uphill battle from there. The only other seats that will be competitive will be Arizona and perhaps North Carolina. However, in the event of an economic contraction, where the Republicans catch a bear market hot potato, seats like Iowa, Montana, Georgia, and even Texas open up.

We could wind up with anywhere from two to eight competitive races, it just depends.

I think Democrats should consider competing for every senate seat up this year. Alabama elected a democrat in 2017, and I think that it’s better to plenty of options on the table.

Run candidates everywhere, just like McGrath is doing now. O'Rouke and Jones showed us center-left candidates can bring silent support out of the woodwork.

It will be harder to win once Trump is on the ballot though, as he will bring out the rural voters who will vote straight ticket red.

Still, these things are possible.
 
De Blasio will be among the next to fall out. The dope isn't even popular in his own city...the flipping loon.
