And we wouldn't or at least shouldn't jail them or take their kids away. We don't live in the Les Miserable world.
As far as running to this country with your tail between your legs that does not fly with me. I joined the military and was willing to fight and die for freedom here as well as all around the world. A lot of my family were in the military and are still in the military fighting for people all over the world. We have our freedom here because we are willing to fight and die for it. They need to figure out that freedom isn't free.

Your use of loaded language and your sanctimonious ex military crap ( I'm a vet, as well, so you know ) to rationalize the unwarranted dehumanization of people in order to justify cruel and inhumane treatment of them doesn't fly with me.

So we should not punish people who break our laws. How many children are in foster homes right now in this country because their parents broke the law? It is OK to do it to citizens of this country but not illegal aliens. Sorry but I am not buying the lie.

I thank you for your service. I have family over in the Middle East right now. They have children that they are separated from right now because they are willing to fight for someone else's freedom. That is sanctimonious military crap. They go a lot longer without seeing their children than any of these border jumping criminals will. It is not cruel and inhumane treatment but their job. What about the thousands of parents of children serving in our military who don't come home alive. Sorry if I don't buy your crap of how bad these border jumping criminals have it.

Yes, but punishment should fit the offense. For the first time in history, we are prosecuting first time crossers/class B misdemeanors and taking kids away.

Okay, all the first ladies (at least the previous ones) & past presidents, congresspersons and senators on both the right and left, pundits on the left and right, pressured Trump to end this wholly unnecessary policy, which he did.

I didn't serve the military to further injustice to anyone. Your language betrays a mindset that ignores reality.

Again, all the first ladies (at least the previous ones) & past presidents, congresspersons and senators on both the right and left, pundits on the left and right, pressured Trump to end this wholly unnecessary policy, which he did, all of whom see the reality of the circumstances of these border crossers in a different, more humane light, than the one you are portraying.
