Heart Warming Moment At the McCain Funeral

Nah. Not it IS a fact and more...you KNOW it. hell, Im not even sure what it is you think you are arguing against.

What is factual is only that you proposed your version of how an alternate timeline might unfold. The events in your imagined timeline are not themselves "facts" any more than the fictional events in Star Trek are "facts." Now, you're certainly allowed to call those imagined outcomes "likely" (which I may or may not disagree with), but they cannot be considered to be "facts."

I actually think 90% of Trump supporters don't support his morals or his behavior. We support his politics. Even John McCain voted with Trump 90% of the time.

I find Trump morally bankrupt. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night that I am aligned with him. That being said he is our president and has been doing a great job in regards to his policies!

He is doing "a great job in regards to his politics".

I think you are giving him too much credit, especially when you balance his politics with the damage he is doing to psyche of Americans and the disunity he is stoking.

First of all, Trump is getting kudos for the economy but the economy was already on the rise before him. As such, some additional growth can be attributed to him but it is impossible to say how much and that makes a difference because if the economy was still growing under another President, would we be 10% better, 20% better, 50% better? In addition, it was not he himself that brought on the additional growth but the Republican Tax Cut (that was not his, it was Congress) and the de-regulation, which was also a Republican goal. In addition, de-regulation has been tried before and on those occasions it also worked but only for a short period of time because de-regulation brings about excess greed and that always causes problems in the long run. As such, just because things are going well right now, it does not mean that the de-regulation brought on by the Republicans and Trump will end up being a positive. The last de-regulation period was in the middle 2000's and you saw what the end result was, a recession that was on the verge of a depression.

On the opposite side, Trump is bringing us a Trade War (that is Trump's doing) and though the results of that Trade War are not yet known, the last Trade War that we had was disastrous to our economy. As such, that cannot yet be graded but the probabilities favor negatives and not positives. In addition, he is also bringing us things that can be destructive to our society such as Climate Change. He is throwing Climate Change out the window in order to feed the pocketbooks of a few rich people that are bringing back coal. Coal is no longer the #1 product for energy, it is now about last, meaning there is no great benefit but there could be a great cost. This also cannot be graded right now but when it can be graded there is likely to be no solution to the problem. In addition and to also fill the pocketbooks of a few rich people, he is bringing down regulations on environmental issues that will cause more pollution of our air but also of our waters, death of some species, and sickness of many of our people.

All of this has to be weighed with a slightly better economy and a few more jobs that may also be lost fast in the Trade War.

Is it worth it? I personally do not believe so.

There are two absolute factual realities. 1-When McCain ran in 2008 every aspect of his life was attacked by the same people that attack Trump today. 2-If McCain had ran and won and defeated HRC in 2016, he would be Donald trump to the leftists that spew their non stop hatred.

Those are just facts.
Your "factual realities" do not match actual reality. I am sorry to say.

When all is said and done our last three presidents will end up the worst three presidents of the modern era each in turn worse than his predecessor.
- Bush for being a thundering idiot, a man without a spec of intellect who as a consequence abdicated his responsibilities to the country to the ruthless Chaney. Bush was at least a decent human being...but not much more than that. I laugh my butt off at people who now look back at Saddam and justify the invasion because he gassed his people. And where is it written that we needed to stick our big noses into that??

- Obama for not having found the means to work through the Congress as obstructionist as it was. Yes he got a raw deal in the Right going to war with him just for the sight of him standing there. That is all it took...just the sight of him standing there. However, he should have seen that coming and he should have found a way. Instead he turned too hard to Executive Orders. In addition he turned what would have been one of the better one term presidencies into a disaster of a two term presidency insisting on running for a second term when he did not have the intestinal fortitude to drag a dem majority House behind him. That left him with 6 straight years without any support worth mentioning in the House. If you can't even bring the House along for the first two years of your second term, what the heck are you doing running. However, he was another decent human being.

- this idiot Trump is far and away the worst president of the modern era and it has only taken him about 18 months to prove that. He is completely self absorbed, completely corrupt, utterly without scruples, or sense or any single cell of his body interested in public service. Besides that, he is a dope. He is simply a thug and a crook and it is the height of rationalization to fantasize that anything good can come from installing such a man in the White House.

It is only a matter of time before the bills start rolling in for this trumpian nonsense. In fact, if you count the disdain we have earned in the eyes of the world for the mess of separations at the border and the cost of the rape of the Treasury, the big boost one of the world's great tyrants, KJU got out of Singapore, the damage from the cultural warfare Trump instigates, the bills are already starting to roll in. This is just the beginning. There are more bills that will roll in. Trump unlike his two predecessors is not a decent human being. He is scum. There is only one segment of the population "thrilled" with these Judgeships and they sold their souls to get them. In fact, the worst bet you can make is that Judges will for their lifetime terms vote always like you want them to vote or will even do it for very long. That was a sucker bet and those that made it are too dense to understand even that.

Who said you don't have a right to a stupid opinion? No one.

You're being told you opinion is worthless. Some opinions are worthless trix, and some are well supported...you don't get a trophy for participation. Grow up indeed!

What do you think a debate forum is, if not a debate about which opinions are good ones, and which ones are absurd?

The irony is so delicious.

My point stands
Please do not delude yourself, you had no point, just the usual partisan drivel.

He is not my man.
Yet you kiss his behind every chance you get.

He is the sitting president of the United States.
Only because a lot of uneducated degenerates who are too stupid to understand what that asshole stands for desperately wanted to claim victory through him.

My point stands; politics don't belong at funerals.
He is not my man. He is the sitting president of the United States.

Pfffftttt, sitting president my rosy red butt...who shat explosively all over John S. McCain for well over three years, said sheissing 100% unsolicited I might add.
When you say "sitting President" I think of another word with regards to McCain, because Trump essentially used McCain as his toilet seat, and encouraged all Trump supporters to vent their bowels on him in turn.

I guarantee you Meghan McCain couldn't care less what Trump or his supporters think.
It's disturbing to watch authoritarians do this as they do, they'd turn their own mothers in.

You guys should be forced to watch all this stuff on a repeating loop till your brains explode from cognitive dissonance.
I can't even abide by 70% of McCain's politics and I still never would have said those kinds of things about the man, not ever.

Staggering that anybody would have the unmitigated gall to criticize Meghan McCain for making very literate and pointed comments about the most unruly POS, tactless asswipe in the history of American politics because he is "the sitting President". If Trump would act like a sitting President it would help such an argument. But since he won't, said argument is that much more absurd. Of course the fact that she never mentioned him by name gets no credit as literacy in Trumpworld gets no credit. Notice none of us including Trumpets had any trouble figuring out what Meghan was talking about. Yet the "plain speaking" Trump simply speaks in tongues...talks gibberish constantly and then complains that he was misunderstood. "I meant to say wouldn't, not would". The more that sinks in, does it not sound more ridiculous as anything other than another flat out lie by the day.

You being incorrect and then corrected, isn't irony.

And just for the completely clueless out there, the entire McCain funeral was in part, designed to be a middle finger to Trump, and the people who support his behavior.
Even GWB threw shade Trump's way...but look out! Trix is here to tell us that Meghan should have kept her mouth shut, at her father's funeral.

Keep up the good works, Jesus would be proud!

Meghan McCain has a right to her opinion, but she should have known better to take a hit at a sitting president during her eulogy to her father. There is no place for politics at funerals.

I think she knows what her father would want her to say at his funeral better than you do.

I have to say that I do enjoy watching the Trump haters embrace anyone who doesn't support him. Bush was their nemesis- a war monger who plunged the country into recession. Now, he hands Michelle Obama a piece of candy and he's just so squishy and lovable! Mwwwwwwwwwwwwah!
McCain, who has a voting record against abortion, PP and other women's causes, which the *****-hat clad legions marched against not 2 years ago, is now their hero because he quite literally went to his grave as Trump's enemy.

Simply because he stood against someone they hate.

The bedfellows get stranger and stranger.

Who will be their next bff?

In the first place, categorizing people that criticize the absurdity of Donald Trump as "Trump haters" does not quite hit the mark and is not even relevant to this discussion. Whether one likes McCain's politics or not, Corporal Bone Spurs blathering on about the type of person "He" thinks is an American Hero particularly within the realm of the Military is laughable. Mainly comments on Trump in reference to McCain are comments on the absurdity of Trump's McCain takes. Has nothing to do with McCain's politics. But then again, the Right finds it impossible these days to view anything at all outside of a 100% political context. As such expecting the Right to understand how people can differentiate some of the issues revolving around Trump and McCain outside of an entirely political context is simply another item that escapes the Right's silo mind set.

You need to read the thread a little more closely.

Those are just facts.

I disagree.

I voted for McCain once due to his support for campaign finance reform.

And while i wouldn't have voted for him because ...Palin, I always liked the guy even when I disagreed with him.

Trump on the other hand has been a waste of human flesh for as long as I have known of him.

So, no.

The beauty is we know who people are. The same people that **** themselves over all things Trump would have responded in the exact same manner regardless of who stole their ring of power. And that’s a fact, just as it is a fact that many of those today praising McCain do it for one reason and one reason alone....Trump.

As I've already said, I will leave you to your "what if" fantasy.

And I've made myself clear how I feel about McCain: wrong-headed in all his policy positions, but in all other respects a decent human being. I admit there was one time where I completely lost my temper at him, but that's bound to happen now and again when you're dealing with somebody you fundamentally disagree with on political matters.

I don't ask that everybody agree with me, but I do ask that the people I disagree with hold to basic humanitarian principles and codes of decency, and that describes McCain just fine.

History is a great teacher.

I’m fine with political
disagreements. Heck, I’m fine with disagreeing with people in general. Most of my family is GOP. Some are dems. I’m a registered libertarian. I’m more liberal on a lot of social issues than my liberal friends and family members. Reasonable people can disagree with people’s political opinions and still not be douchebags towards one another.

He seems a nice enough guy as a private citizen but he is still the worst President of my lifetime. Some tender moments aren’t going to change that.

I would have a beer with Bush2, but would not give him one vote, even as dog catcher. The man needs to stay retirement in Houston.

He does WAY too much "presidenting" sitting on the toilet.

Difficult to say with conviction that they "embraced" those people given that the norm is to be civil at least. What did you expect? that they would be slugging each other in church? Did you see McConnell and Shumer together?
