Hats as Hate

It's more adorable that you don't recognize the truth in the poster's statement.

Awww! You're cute too!

Try this, re-read the post. Find the salient argument and not the tertiary point. Look at whether it is addressed or ignored. I don't want to give too big of a hint, but the second sentence is important here.

We'll see you if you catch up! Good luck!

Still butthurt you're prized story fizzled out?

I mean damn, if I was a liberal and my hopes to get Trump kept being dashed with Fake News story after Fake News story, I'd lash out like a child as well.

Have you listened to the crap that came out of the mouths of that black supremist group toward these kids in front of the Lincoln Memorial? It was so vial that most news stations had to bleep the crap. Have you been following the revelations of this so called Indian Vietnam vet that makes him out to be nothing more than a liar. Yet these same people are triggered over a MAGA hat. Well come Friday NBC and a whole lot of lefty journalists and organizations may find themselves in a lawsuit. They have been given until Friday to retract their stories that defamed these students. If they don't they will be met with a lawsuit.

Oh I found the point. It obviously passed you by. Hope the breeze wasn't too cold.

Yes, Orwell's "1984" is here; complete with new-speak, face crimes, thought crimes, etc., along with the various organs of media and social justice to weed such criminals out, publicly humiliate them and then destroy them if they refuse "re-education in right-think."

dammit i called this up to a year ago. dystopian future here we come.

Yeah it was.

No, it wasn't. Go look up the terms 'slander' and 'libel' and try again.
Groups Trump supporters into 2 groups, demonizing and dehumanizing them, its what hate is made out of. Go away, you aren't ready for a conversation where thinking is required.

Sorry, it's not libel no matter how much that upsets you.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Every person has a choice with regard to how they react to something they don't like to hear. It's a CHOICE to hear racism in Trump's words and it's a FALSE CHOICE to hear such words where they don't exist.

Is that why so many racists hear racism in Trump's words? The KKK does not endorse a candidate very often.

so you're saying there are no racists that ever support the Democratic party?

Its a false, damaging statement about a group of people. The definition of slander. Go troll another thread.

Non violent people wear ANTIFA hats, but I bet if someone showed up to a Trump rally with one the assumption would be there wouldn't it?

Why can't you ever just answer a question?

Since Trump said Mexicans were rapists and drug dealers and that the Neo Nazis were fine people.

Sent from my Honor 8X using Tapatalk

Did he say ALL Mexicans were rapists and drug dealers?

No.

But drug dealers and rapists are present at the border. Who do you thinks are smuggling drugs and people over the border?

Nick Sandmann, a student at Covington Catholic, says he was a silent bystander in viral video. But his MAGA hat spoke for him.

I'd like to point out that this piece, while opinion, isn't on some off the wall blog or some "news" site with a well know and recognized political lean. It's from NBC.

This is what MAIN STREAM MEDIA is putting out to the public -

"Aligning oneself with Trump's movement is an aggressive political statement"

That's where we are today. The author then goes on to describe all kinds of incidents where a Trump supporter "taunted or attacked someone from a marginalized group". He does that while ignoring all the incidents where someone from the "Resistance" has attacked Trump supporters.

To call this kind of article disingenuous would be generous in the extreme. To see it promoted by NBC, one of the traditional bastions of broadcast journalism, really tells us where we are as a country and it tells us a WHOLE lot about where the major players in the media stand, politically. There really isn't much doubt at all any more that most of the broadcast and print media has become the propaganda arm of the political class. They aren't even hiding it any more.

NBC does not offer journalism. Mostly it offers fear-mongering and propaganda.

However their point that the MAGA hats are symbols of intolerance and bigotry, not to mention stupid political sloganeering, is true.

When I wear my "911 is an Inside Job" or "Hillary for Prison 2016" T-shirt, I expect and often receive special attention. A shirt or hat can evoke emotional responses. Some are offended or threatened, others supportive.

There to support anti-abortion protest, the boys wore the hats for a reason.

No, it's not, but I understand you're need to pretend otherwise.

You having to pretend that's trolling just goes to demonstrate my point.

I'm sorry you talk about 2 very specific slogans about very specific events and then compare the way they threaten or offend others versus a generic political slogan such as "Make America great again"?

the hats don't mean anything but what they say. people who are overly sensitive to the false narrative the progressives keep spewing about the hats being racist because they take some things Trump has said out of context in no way equates to a logical argument about what a piece of apparel means.

No pretending at all, its all you do...ever.

I don’t believe wearing a MAGA hat means somebody is a racist. But when you really think about what it means I can see how it might be considered “politically aggressive” by many people of color.

Why do I say that? What does it stand for? “Make America Great Again”. It is that “again” part that gives many minorities some concern. When do these hat wearers think America was great and when do they think it stopped being great? Often times what old white folks remember as the good old days was quite the opposite for minorities. Was it great before blacks had the right to vote? Before women could vote? Before women were allowed to have their own credit cards(1974)? Before mixed race relations were legal? Before it was legal to be gay? Before it was legal for gays to marry? When were the great days that your hat is saying you want to return to?

I think you’re reading way too much into a simple political slogan.

"Aligning oneself with Trump's movement is an aggressive political statement"

That's where we are today.

I got the right to vote in the late 70's. I have never, ever put a political bumper sticker on my car because I know I'll tick off a lot of people with it. I remember back during Kerry v Bush some guy (a friend was his neighbor) had his front yard torn up 2 times by some moron in a 4 wheel drive. Reason? You don't put up a Kerry yard sign in the outskirts of Frederick, MD, it seems.

"Hate" is nothing new. Trump just found the Spinal Tap "turn it up to 11" knob.

No pretending at all, its all you do...ever.

Of course you are. You called something 'slander' which clearly isn't slander, nor can you show that it was; it would only fall under 'libel', and you cannot demonstrate that's it's libel.

Nice fail you always bring to the game.

Get a new schtick, your current one is boring.

Meh...an armband is just an armband until you put a swastika on it. And a swastika used to be a holy symbol of good fortune until Hitler appropriated it. Things sometimes find their meaning changed, depending on how they are used and where they are seen. Don't get pissed off at "the MSM", get pissed at the people who get caught on it wearing your symbol and doing stupid stuff.
