Great news! Remington files for bankruptcy

I think what he's telling you is that calling 911 and then throwing your phone at him/they sure as hell won't stop them. Unless of course they gotta catch their breath from laughing. In other words they can stop or pay the penalty.

When you call you just have to let the operator know you shot the intruder, they will get there faster.

They can't stay afloat because, in our capitalistic society, they cannot create a profit despite being popped up by the NRA and second amendment loons residing in Congress, the Senate, and courts.

I am an investor but certainly would never support the killing of innocent civilians and children. When companies like Remington do good, that means gun violence increases. Those guns circulate in the hands of criminals.

Have liberals found a way to get criminals to give up their guns, or do they just want law abiding citizens guns?
They never answered this question with common sense.

Then start a new thread.

That's alright... I'm not much of a thread starter... More or less just seeing if Bucky was capable of having ANY sort of intelligent discussion with me about ANYTHING that he himself brought up in his own thread, but I think we have the answer to that one...

I first tried with the thread topic, but that didn't work so well either... and Rucker got in right away and pretty much fully handled the main problem with the OP...

Please don't drive any vehicle. They have and do kill innocent people. At times vehicles are the choice weapon of terrorists and other criminals. Even electric vehicles can be used to kill.

Good grief. Your OP and some of your responses are just not well founded in logic or reality. Sorry.

That's classic Bucky for ya... and I would change the bolded word to "damn near all"

It is called negligent entrustment. Remington was marketing the AR-15 as a cool weapon used by soldiers in combat.

It is illegal for food companies to sell certain foods or market certain foods as healthy, etc...The same with financing, loans, etc..

A manufacturer can't be liable under negligent entrustment for the actions of a retail purchaser. Whatever gave you the idea that they could?

Unfortunately, war is the way of mankind.

Sorry, I must have quoted the wrong part of that. The status I was referring to was 'stopped.' And that that status could change to 'dead.'

Fair enough. I've done worse. :)

The fundamental question we need to ask ourselves is simple yet paramount: are guns safe?

The answer is no. Not only are guns inherently dangerous, I have seen lawsuits of guns shooting themselves, malfunctioning, firing without pulling a trigger, etc..

This is an industry in clear need of regulation.

Gun defect lawsuits:

Depends what hands they're in.

That has been an issue with some of the more modern Remingtons and that's why I don't buy their products anymore. I do believe Remington is being negligent with their product production.

I 100% agree with you there. Without government intervention, those companies would be dead. You can't fight the inevitability of solar/electric vehicles.

Companies like Ford and GM are killing America with there gas guzzling vehicles.

In the next 20 years, they will lose at least 50% of market share of automobile sales.

Ford didn't take any money.

Next, Ford and Chevy!

You do understand that filing for bankruptcy enables them to stay in business, right?

Maybe. The survival rate for Chapter XI companies is 25%.

The one's that survive have a healthy core business but may be overly leveraged. The relief from restructuring of burdensome debt allows the good business to emerge from a bad situation. If the core business is failing, which is likely here, the bankruptcy is just an orderly payoff from the assets of the business.

What will happen here is probably relief from the lawsuits offset by the fact that the shareholder's equity will be wiped out. In essence, the victims sued them for everything they had, and they shareholders gave them everything they had..... the core business is left with a fighting chance with its creditors in control.
