It's either pretty close, or the genuine article --- I don't know if this is the smoking gun or not,
but the pistol's so hot you'd probably drop it right quick.

Think this one will be the one?

27th time is the charm?

It's either pretty close, or the genuine article, you be the judge:

We have been hearing this for over a year now. The fact that someone uses the expression "getting close" while constantly claiming that collusion has been proven is ironic. Either you're there or you aren't.

The collusion with Russia wasn't with the Trump campaign. It was the DNC and the Clinton camp along with some goo neverTrumpers.

There is no evidence that Clinton, nor the DNC, attempted to engage Russia to intervene in the 2016 election.

It only took six posts to bring up a debunked conspiracy theory...

I heard that the 11th is a day to pay attention. It was late and I signed off. Anyone heard anything about the 11th?

Paul Manafort Just recieved his fourth indictment along with the Russian agent he was in frequent correspondence with.

Well, there continues to be more evidence to support that claim than to support the claim that Trump & Co. did the conspiring with Russia.
I mean, we still have the Clinton campaign document known as the Steele dossier, which was generated from annonymous Russian sources.
Whereas, even former Obama intelligence officials have said the Trump campaign was never under investigation for any sort of conspiracy with Russia.

Perhaps a better term would be getting closer.

It's not like people being investigated are all cooperating. It isn't that all people who have knowledge are coming forward. And while it appears that there is some cooperation by the US Senate the GOP House has worked hard to obfuscate, foot drag and monkey wrench the works while tacitly supporting Trump, his campaign and his administration.

The Special Counsel is making progress. We know much more than we did a year ago about Russia's involvement in the US presidential election. We know much more about what has become a growing number of Americans and American businesses who were involved with Russian entities as the Russians worked to influence that 2016 election. We know more about non-Russian foreign involvement as well.

Do we know yet all who were involved and to what degree and at what levels? Not yet or Muller's investigation would have concluded its work.

Do we know yet all that the Russians and Russian entities that were involved, and how and to whom they were connected in the US? It does not seem that we do as almost weekly more revelations are discovered and reported. Obviously the Russians don't want to cooperate and implicate themselves. But neither do a growing number of Americans and American businesses that were involved. It is like trying to untangle a box of coat hangers. It is on going.

You are correct. It would better if news organizations would refrain from saying "getting close". Close is a relative term. Not knowing where the end will be getting closer would be a more appropriate term.

What about this?

The Trump campaign official who admitted he met with Russians to get "dirt" on Hillary Clinton claims President Donald Trump knew that he intended to meet with foreign nationals.

George Papadopoulos has already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his meeting with a Kremlin-linked Russian academic who promised “thousands of emails” that would hurt the Clinton campaign, but the just-reported comments from Politico would be the first time Papadadoulos's work had a direct link to Trump himself, rather than lower-level campaign staffers.

Marianna Kakaounaki, an investigative reporter for the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, said Papadopoulos told her that Trump called him personally after he was hired to the campaign in March 2016. Trump later met with Papadopoulos one-on-one, when the aide told Trump about his ongoing efforts to set up a meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kakaounaki said.

Around the same time, Trump told The Washington Post that Papadopoulos was an "excellent guy." The Trump administration maintains that Papadopoulos only met Trump on March 31 for a group photo shoot.

Trump Knew Papadopoulos Would Meet With Foreigners, Ex-Aide Claims

Or this?

Less than two weeks before Donald Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination, his campaign chairman offered to provide briefings on the race to a Russian billionaire closely aligned with the Kremlin, according to people familiar with the discussions.

Paul Manafort made the offer in an email to an overseas intermediary, asking that a message be sent to Oleg Deripaska, an aluminum magnate with whom Manafort had done business in the past, these people said.

“If he needs private briefings we can accommodate,” Manafort wrote in the July 7, 2016, email, portions of which were read to The Washington Post along with other Manafort correspondence from that time.

The emails are among tens of thousands of documents that have been turned over to congressional investigators and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team as they probe whether Trump associates coordinated with Russia as part of Moscow’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 U.S. election.

The OP is not about the DNC and Clinton. Don't bait in an attempt to derail this thread.

Why don't you start a thread about the DNC and Clinton?

Looks like your attempting to protect Hillary and censor me with that draconian threat. The Steele Dossier was purchased through team Hillary and her lawyer firm Perkins Coie, not the Trump campaign.

Rachel Maddow grapples with the question

And she bobbles, fumbles...and drops the question. (then she falls flat on her ass)

Face it, spin, speculation, innuendo and hyperbole won't get anyone charged with anything, let alone convicted.

If you don't know this is the smoking gun then how do you know the pistol is even hot? If I had a nickel for every time you guys said there was proof of collusion or close to it, I'd be rich. And every time up to this point has been wrong so far. Maybe this time is different, but I doubt it.

She's nothing but an errand girl for the corrupt deep state Anti-Trump media.

Nailing Trump has been "Right around the corner" for how long now? Two years? The Russia/Trump is creating collateral damage for the last administration, and that damage is going to be the DNC, Hillary, Lynch, Comey, because every time they roll over a stone, Clinton or the DNC's syncopates fingerprints are on it. You cannot separate the two anymore.

I wonder if Rachael Maddow and her tinfoil hat brethren have an exit strategy when the Trump is over and the Democrats begin. What his she going to do? I'd suggest comedy. That way she can still pretend to be relevant. Or will she pull her gullible audience along and phony path just for the money? You bet your ass she would.

It's over, Rover. BOHICA!

Think this one will be the one? 27th time is the charm?

Wait, you talking about the number of lies and 'forgotten' meetings Trump and his clan have had knocked down????

Coz if you means all the lies and 'misrememberings' I think that number is easily twice as high... :peace

There is no evidence that Clinton, nor the DNC, attempted to engage Russia to intervene in the 2016 election.

There is evidence that the DNC and Clinton campaign paid a LOT of money to a former British spy with strong Russian connections to do opposition research--translation: get dirt on--Donald Trump.

Just meeting with Russians might or might not be collusion, but unless it involves illegal conspiracy to rig an election, it is not illegal. If just meeting with Russians is in and of itself illegal collusion, I might as well turn myself in. At least in federal prison I will get a bed, clothing, a roof over my head, free healthcare, and three squares a day all at your expense. :)

Barack Obama set the precedent in 2008 of candidates meeting with foreign heads of state. All that report is about is PapaD proposing the same with respects to Trump and Putin.

What we know is that it was probably foreign agents reaching out to the Trump campaign about dirt they said they had on Clinton (whereas Clinton was proactive in seeking dirt about Trump from foreign sources).

Trump and his campaign actively sought help from the Russians

He wanted their help, and was willing to collude.

Manafort has been indicted, carter page is a suspect, Papadopoulos is facing criminal charges, robert Gates plead guilty, we know the names of their Russian co-conspirators.
