Get rid of SBR Law: Especially for Pistol Caliber

Easy access to firearms is just what it says. Ex., it's under your bed and you can quickly pick the thing up.

That's perfectly legal and protected by the Constitution.

Agreed. I bought a Remington 870 Express Magnum for home defense. You can almost do a 180 turn in a standard hallway maintaining the gun parallel to the floor. In truth the mag on that is a little longer than the barrel. My wife is more comfy racking that shotgun and aiming/shooting it than she is with pistols. Strange, but true.

I think shotguns are better for home defense because it's ultimately an area suppression weapon and isn't as likely to shoot through a wall.

Turtle, let me ask you two questions:

1. How likely is it that one citizen can cast one vote at the ballot box and, by doing so, kill another human? Just by that one single vote?
2. How likely is it that one citizen can fire one bullet at another human and, by doing so, kill them? Just by that one single fired bullet?

Do you believe that people die because Donald Trump was elected president?

Reread #1 in my post. In particular, read the second question in #1, word-for-word.

A shotguns pattern with a cylinder bore is about the size of the distance between two dress shirt buttons at distances you would likely find in a home so proper aim is still important. In addition, any shotgun round capable of killing is going to go through walls.

Do you believe the Founders intended for an 8 year old child to be able to buy fully automatic weapons?

I figured you would go straight to the rediculous.

Not if you use 4 shot, or 6 shot. I didn't say a shotgun wouldn't shoot through a wall. I said it isn't as likely.

In all fairness, my perspective is different because the walls in my house are wood, not sheetrock. A shotgun round would have to penetrate 2 inches of wood.

I reread it. The question stands.

You will answer my question before I will answer yours. That's not up for discussion.

If "shall not be infringed" is to be taken literally, then the ridiculous is where it ends up.

explain, the states still have police powers

The national firearms act of 1934 was pass to make firearms mentioned in the law, un-affordable to the average civilian. Most people could not afford the $200 tax in 1934, and if there was a provision to account for inflation, that $200 tax would be near $5000 today! The SBR tax can currently be averted by installing one of the sig braces on a AR pistol. The ban on new machine guns has be circumvented with the invention of the bump fire stocks, and because machine guns are not defined by how fast they can empty a magazine! The NFA of 1934 is obsolete!

I want it overturned too. I would own supressors and an SBR or two in 9mm if they became unrestricted.

My issues are with having to jump through political and financial hoops to protect my hearing and own a shoulder fired arm with an arbitrary barrel and overall length.

Its :bs

none of the anti gun posters have made even an attempt to justify such laws. that stupid POS legislation doesn't even meet a rational basis test
