I loved the GD but I agree with you on this one. Their cover of Dylan's Knocking on Heaven's Doors was lame too. On the other hand, their versions of Johnny B Good and Morning Dew are classics

Molly Hatchet doing Duane Allman's brilliant Dreams. Doing a cover of one of the best guitarist's signature pieces is usually going to be a fail. It was.
The Flying Lizard's Cover of the Beatles' Money. It was so awful it became a cult classic
Linda Rondstadt's cover of Elvis Costello's Girls Talk (Dave Edmunds did a good cover). This was reputedly so offensive to Elvis that he released the copyright on the song and donated all the money he made from it to charity
and to end this list Marilyn Manson's butchery of Gary Newman's Down by the Park/

Kazoo covers of Led Zeppelin songs.
some of DRED ZEPELLIN's covers are pretty awful too
and a cover done by one of my favorite bands-one they shouldn't have done IMHO

I actually saw Dread Zepplin many years ago and the show was fantastic even though the music was a little weird.
