Franklin Graham blasts Buttigieg for being gay

Graham hasn't defended Trump's sins.

Graham has absolutely defended Trump, both in violation of Biblical mandate and for things he attacked Bill Clinton for.

Paul was quite clear what to do about people like Trump, who claim the title Christian, but whose lives are lived in rejection of its teachings. Graham decided political access was more important.

I gave you the answer, the point is moot. The bible is not the book of answers for me, ergo, I don't give a whit what it says about morality. Now, you regard the bible as your law, you can believe whatever fantasy you want to.

And, of course you dodge the whole adultery issue, because you have to, your cognitive dissonance allows you not to see your blatant hypocrisy.
:lamo

No...you didnt,. You avoided the answer and the reason is obvious. You are full of **** and we both know it. You don't give a **** about 'hypocrisy'...you **** yourself over what you perceive as conservative Christian hypocrisy, but when confronted with what you KNOW is an obvious example of a liberal expression of Christian hypocrisy you cant even bring yourself to answer the question...which make the real flaming hypocrite in the room...you.

But, not Trump's sins.

Yep, and they have no idea who John was.

OTC, we have some fairly good information about John, though we do lack certainty.

What we do not lack, however, is a Gospel of John that is an actual Gospel, recognized as such since the time of its authorship.

Although he does appear to have essentially copied the other gospels, following in the footsteps of Matthew and Luke before him, and giving Jesus even more magical powers than those who preceded him.

....no. All the Gospels contain the miracles of Jesus, although you are correct that there is textual overlap. Here is a useful illustration:

Gospels.webp

It's just like a fish story, and naturally the fish keeps getting bigger each time the story is told. Normal human behaviour.

Nah. People tend to star in their fish stories, and the Gospels are pretty matter-of-fact.

I mean, he's not really wrong.

Most Christians believe in the Trinity, which without getting technical, means Jesus and Yahweh are of the same mind on all things. In the OT, Yawheh (through his priests) said men lying with men was an abomination. Therefore, Jesus would believe the same thing.

I've said it before but I'll repeat it once more: never understand why gay people want to be part of the religion that says their lifestyle is an abomination.

Because they know that the two books of the OT that mention it were cherry picked by bigots who seemed to have relegated the rest of these two horrid books to the trash bin. Gay people like the NT, specifically the first four books. Very few people honestly follow every single word of the OT.

You lied. Just as we thought.

Who is we? You and the voice in your head?

Everyone else can open the links, which you didn't do, and see Graham defending Trump's sins.

But pretend you didn't see my posts. That way you don't have to face your own dishonesty head on.

Not all Christians believe in the Trinity or the entirety of the Bible as absolute truth. Some only believe in what Jesus actually said himself as truth. Which would mean his faith as a Christian (with such or similar beliefs) would not conflict with his being gay. They could easily mesh. It is all about what that person believes, not the majority.

Buttigig shouldnt be critical of the faiths of those Christians who adhere to more of the bible than he does.

Who are you to say who doesn't have God in his heart? Did God tell you?

Matthew 7: 16-20 tell us that you can adjudge by their fruit. "... By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them...."

If there ever was a barren tree in God's earth, it is Donald Trump. Virtually every thing God detests, Trump manifests.

Proverbs 6 16-19: ".....here are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
..."

What are the seven things God hates?

Sorry, Trump heart is hardened toward God, which alone makes him a detestable character to be leading our nation. At least I can't think of a quick instance where I would suggest the hands of Trump shed innocent blood.... but give me a moment.

You have to open the links yourself. And read them. Thanks for admitting you didn't.
I read the first link you provided. You are lying if you think it showed anywhere in there that it showed Graham defending Trumps acts of adultery. Conversely...what we see in this thread is people defending Buttigiegs acts of homosexuality. Adultery and homosexuality are both classified as 'sins'. No one is defending adultery as acceptable. People ARE excusing and defending homosexuality...described in the Bible (the same source that defines adultery) as a sin. But then...the odds of YOU actually knowing what was in what you actually posted are pretty small.

Provide biblical quote of Jesus ever calling himself god.

I'll wait.

:) thanks for waiting.

All four Gospels and the Epistles record Jesus' claims to Godhood and that claims' acceptance by the early Church, though this is most explicitly and most repeatedly captured in John and the Epistles.

Jesus claimed to be "one with" (on par with) God the Father (John 10:30), and is identified himself as the son (Matthew 3:17, Luke 3:22, etc.). Jesus identified himself the same way that God did to Moses in the Old Testament (Exodus 3:14 - John 8:58), and claimed for himself God's characteristics (his eternal nature, power, etc.).

God stated that he would give his glory to no other entity (Isaiah 42:8). Jesus took glory from God in prayer (John 17:5). God claimed that he would be the one to judge nations at the end of times (Joel 3:12), and Jesus is identified as the one in particular who would be doing so (Mattew 25:31-46). Jesus takes God's titles as Shepard and Light for himself (Psalm 23:10 - John 10:11 and Psalm 27:1 - John 8:12). He claimed God's authority to forgive sins (Mark 2:5-11), God's authority to expand and re-shape Scripture (Matthew 5 and John 13:34), and that he should be honored as God is honored (John 5:16-18, 22-23). He also accepted the worship of people (Matt. 8:2; 9:18; 15:25; 20:20; 28:17; Mark 5:6), and taught them to pray in his name (John 14:13-14; 15:7), and told his Disciples to baptize believers in the name of the Trinity (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) (Matthew 28:19). .

And that, of course, is why the Jews tried to kill him for Blasphemy - because they understood exactly what he was saying.

I know, I know. Gays are icky.

Graham hates them too. He also hates adulterers - except when they're Republicans.

But, not Trump's sins.

From chapter 5 of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians:

Paul said:
9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

Trump claims to be a Christian, and pretty much ticks off every single one of those boxes, except for drunkard. Graham chose to violate scriptural commandment, and yes, defends Trump in his sins, in ways that are blatantly hypocritical following his attacks on Bill Clinton. Not only that, he has cracked down on criticism of Trump's abuses at Liberty. He chose to sell out his Witness for worthless promises of political access from a liar.

With their allegiance to Trump and never ending sexual/paedophile scandals, American Christians have sundered any claim of a 'higher morality'.

Doesnt say anything about whether or not anyone is 'icky'. The question is whether or not a Christian...one that professes a belief in Christ and therefore the Old and New Testament understands that homosexuality, like adultery, is a sin.

As cited in the Old and New Testament, is homosexuality a sin?

"For this reason, God gave them up to passions of dishonor; for even their females exchanged the natural use for that which is contrary to nature, and likewise also the males, having left the natural use of the female, were inflamed by their lust for one another, males with males, committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error." - Romans 1:26-27

"For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh” - Matthew 19:5

Fiction, unlsess jahweh personally clarifies.

Communists are atheists. They've murder over 100,000,000 people in the past 100 years.

How many have capitalists murdered?

There's a number, don't try to pretend there isn't.

Everybody who died in our proxy wars with communism, for a start.

I suggest counting the four hundred years of capitalism and dividing by four.

Bet the numbers are pretty similar

Gays are icky, I know. You don't have to say it more than you already have. Sinful people! Should be punished.

Graham hates them too.
