Fox News Host Pirro Ticketed for Speeding at 119 mph

You have to remember that the story is, Pirro was worried about a family member and probably wasn't paying any attention to how fast the car was going, only wanted to get there. I had a friend years ago whose brother took a dump on a motorcycle and was in intensive care. When the cop pulled him over on the freeway, he was doing well over 100 and he didn't even know it. He was just trying to get to the hospital. The cop gave him a police escort, likely at a much slower and safer speed.

Ahem your friend didn't "take a dump" on his bike, he "dumped his bike". Big difference - I'm just sayin' .....

Exceeding the speed limit with such a high reading (nearly double in this instance) would be an automatic loss of licence here for a set time period in Australia and rightly so.

That, coupled with the fact you guys drive on the wrong side of the road makes it extra dangerous!

Actually, he got knocked off his bike by another vehicle. Just sayin'.

Which Cobra? Seems a bit of an undermatch against a COPO.

(But then, ya know . . . Mustangs.)

Well, shoot, I had lunch with my friend and could've asked her. All that I know about the Cobra is that it's white and 3 years old now. I don't think her husband ever races his brother; they just go to places to race together.

My friend just acquired her 1966 dream, and her husband has Shelbys. Don't ask me about the Mustang thing; I don't get it!

 We drive on the correct side of the road thank you very much. We do have signs though to point all of our visitors in the right direction!

For me, 1971 or 1987. (And preferably 442.)

those were good years, too. my wife's dad has a 1986 ( i think.) i also like the 1981 model, and my great aunt had a '68 or '69, if i remember correctly.

The neighbor has an '84 Hurst.

So it's possible. If you're driving a Ducati(which almost nobody has), for the first time, not realizing the speedometer is in kph. Do you think half the population has found themselves in this exact situation once or twice?

This woman on the other hand was driving a Cadillac, that she presumably drives often, with a normal speedometer. She was also almost certainly driving on a Regular U.S. interstate with tons of other cars she would have been blowing by.

Yamaha VMax. Speedo disconnected as it was a dealers "demo".

100+ in a few seconds. In second gear. Smooth as can be.

If one is distracted one can go fast and not be fully aware. ESPECIALLY if preoccupied.

you need to know the difference between a crime and civil infraction the fact that you don't is disturbing.
speeding is a civil infraction. doing 55 over the speed limit she will probably get enough points to have her license suspended.
she will probably be charged with reckless endangerment which is still a civil infraction when driving.

she will be required to take a drivers safety course fined a few thousand dollars and that will be the end of it.

again stop the insanity. no one is going to take your seriously if you continue with this nonsense.

My trip to 100+ in a 35 earned me a misdemeanor conviction. The only one on my record.

I see, so on a Motorcycle with no speedometer on a dealers demo in a bike you're clearly unfamiliar with.

She was in her own car, she has obviously driven it many times, with an accurate speedometer. She'd been driving for hours through traffic that had to appear standing still not accelerating for the first time with nobody around.

Just as a semi-unrelated aside. I've always found it interesting that police will let most people slide for going around 15% over the speed limit, and even if their above that the ticket is usually minor despite the fact that there is a speedometer right in front of your face that should tell you the exact speed your traveling, and you can set your cruise control to make sure you don't exceed the limit.

Meanwhile, a DUI will usually get you a penalty that is 5-10 times worse than any speeding ticket, and you get absolutely no leeway whatsoever if you're only a little bit over the limit. Blow a .09, and there's no warning, "call a friend to come pick you up." You get nailed every time, despite the fact that there is no realistic way a person can truly know if their over the limit or not unless they have a breathalizer on them.

I think I'd trust most people driving with a .09 going the speed limit before I'd trust a sober driver at 119 mph.

Oh, I see...

Conservative - Bad.

And you KNOW she was driving at that speed for hours?

And you KNOW she was not distracted? No of course not.

A foolish choice....

A sober driver going 119MPH is not going to magically crash unless they suffer a blowout (rare these days) or a major equipment failure (even rarer given the model).

Someone .09 is impaired. Period. Impaired. A wonderful test Cycle World did years ago on drunk motorcycling had an experienced motorcycle rider rolling over his own foot (and breaking it) at that level of intoxication.

IF they just shot her it would send out a clear message that speeding is dangerous...

Shooting her would not be justified...By throwing her in jail so we don't have to hear her obnoxious screeching voice would be well justified

You are assuming she has driven it many times an that there was traffic.
Again not saying its an excuse for excesive speed.

I would be more worried abotu someone driving 50 in a school zone than 119 on the highway.

Nothing in that article states she had driven the car many times or that there was traffic.

She was probably drunk...Like when she is on Fox screeching her non sense...Woman needs to be put in jail
