Former Trump operative Roger Stone met with Russian who wanted $2M for Clinton dirt

Are you kidding me? Whether it was solicited or not makes no difference. It's still illegal. Matter of fact an unsolicited approach or offer of something of value from foreign nationals of a hostile foreign state should be even more of an immediate cause for alarm and concern or suspicion. Face it. Junior is a moron.

Have already noted the Russian lawyer should be indicted, assuming they can prove she was making a contribution or donation.

What do mean we can't know? What do you think "I would love it" means? And if they were worried that was it a ruse then that's just one more reason why the FBI should have been contacted. Also I might have been wrong in my previous statement that "technically" Stone may not violated FEC law because he was not an 'official member of the Trump campaign. Stone did however have a pro-Trump super PAC during the 2016 Presidential campaign. Which would mean that he is member of an American political organization and therefore subject to FEC law.

*What do mean we can't know? What do you think "I would love it" means?*

It simply means what it says, he would love some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary, but none were delivered, therefore nothing accepted therefore we can't know how the Trump Campaign would have accepted it.

Who said they knew it was a ruse ??

Stone did nothing wrong, short of failing to inform Congress. He could have bought the information from the foreign national and still have done nothing wrong, providing the info hadn't been illegally obtained.

Answer my question. Why did so many close to Trump lie about contacts with Russians? When caught they all claim it was "nothing". If they aren't lying again why did they lie about "nothing"?

Who knows? Who cares?

You guys are the ones making the criminal case about it.
You guys are clinging to this like a dog with an old bone. Its understandable-- there is nothing else here to see.

It is a criminal case.

And Junior should be indicted as well as a co-conspirator and he probably will be.

Mueller will decide whether he did or not.

The Trump Campaign solicited nothing and accepted no contribution, donation or other thing of value. There's no there there.

Reckon why no indictments yet ??

Reckon why attendee Kushner had his security clearances restored ??

Which can be a legitimate concern.

So why the lackof concern over the Steele dossier? Its compiled from annonymous Russian sources. Not only that, but it was used (to a disputed extent) in an American courtroom to obtain warrants on an American citizen.

Never mind whether it was compiled legally.
Was the Clinton campaign moronic for obtaining it? Was the Obama Admin morons for using it?

Because the dossier was obtained legally. Not to mention it wasn't even usable as political opposition research. Glenn Simpson used to be a reporter/correspondent for the NY Times. His area of specialty was mobs, mafias, money laundering operation, tax evasion, etc. Which is how came to be familiar with Trump as Trump has had many personal and business relationships with various domestic and international mob and mafia figures here in the US. He took note that despite Trump's and various Trump associates multiple trips to Russia. They never seem to come away with any business deals. At least any that were publicly known anyway and knowing Trump as he did it wouldn't be for a lack of trying. Simpson had a hunch that there might be a story there So that is what Steele's assignment was. To investigate Trump's business dealings in Russia and find out why none had apparently panned out. But what Steele got back from his sources was something entirely different and it wasn't one or two sources telling him the same type of stories. It was multiple sources that all wanted to talk about the same type of things. And that to Steele was alarming. These sources BTW are 'anonymous' to us. Not to them. But this wasn't anything that could be used by the DNC. You can't put out those kind of allegations during a campaign without any hard proof and the DNC sure as hell wouldn't have the resources or wherewithal to be able to collaborate it. That's the kind of thing that only a government intelligence or law enforcement agency would be able to do. So that is where he sent it. He had discovered evidence of a possible crime involving an hostile foreign intelligence operation, and a large scale one at that, and he reported it to the proper authorities

Long time, no indictments.

Hasn't been that long. Whitewater went on longer than this and that was far less of a complex case than this one.

So we're back to "OK there was collusion but collusion isn't wrong, guys."

The conspiracy statute makes it a crime for two or more people to agree to violate a federal law. Whether they actually go forward and violate that law is not necessary to prove a conspiracy,

But, but you and others have this case all figured out, is Mueller slow to understand or are you and others grasping at straws ??

I think Mueller knows a fair bit more about this than you do. He's been doing this a long time.

LOL! We have only been discussing a very small portion of it. My own theory is the 'collusion', if proven. As a historic and shocking of a first that might be in American political history. It might not be the most shocking part. I think what will push it over the edge of the cliff will be evidence of large and widespread corruption and the totality of all those things put together, obstruction, conspiracy and etc, will be what brings him down.

No doubt Deuce  and it didn't take long to indict Manafort or guilty pleas from Flynn and Papadopoulos but this so easy to understand and cut and dried campaign violation, ................... nothing.

Aaaaaaaaaaah yeah, you run with that.

Your whataboutism is noted.

All I've done is consider the facts in the public record.

Yeah. The ones where the suspects say they didn't do anything wrong and you take it at face value.

And its not whataboutism. What about who?

Try to use terms correctly.

And your evidence they didn't get anything?

Anything beyond a simple denial?

Yeah no. We know what the law states, we know what the emails say, we know what's in the public record.
