If you are against soda nazis are you also against nazi sodas? Here is a video mocking fanta since the soda was originally a nazi creation.

It wasn't. It was created by German Coca-Cola bottlers who could no longer get Coke syrup due to World War II. The bottlers weren't Nazis. They were doing what they could to survive.

I rarely drink sodas now- the only time it would happen is we end up in a fast food joint and there's no other option. But back in the day, I loved root beer as a kid, any kind, any brand.

I take it you aren't a fan of sweet tea? (I like mine unsweetened; my mother was from "up North.")

I'm actually okay with sweet tea. I don't really order it very much at restaurants, though. I tend to just enjoy them when I'm like cooped up in my room or whatever.

When I was growing up I had no idea it was a local drink.

I found out when I was in the navy. I can find it down here in Georgia now tho.

I don't drink "soda" but I drink pop occasionally.

I don't really care about the brand but Mountain Dew Baja Blast is probably my weakness, which figures because for the most part you can only get it at Taco Bell, which carries my other weakness.

Coke or Pepsi? This has been asked since the beginning of, well, soda. I am a Coke girl. Well, Diet Coke. My husband is a Diet Pepsi guy (probably only because I am a Diet Coke girl, because he has always been Coke over Pepsi).

So I am currently out of Diet Coke in the fridge, and he has Diet Pepsi in there (BECAUSE HE NEVER DRINKS IT BECAUSE HE PREFERS COKE - I SWEAR THIS IS A POWER THING WITH HIM). So I begrudgingly took one of his nasty Diet Pepsis, and it tastes like cleaning products. There is a slight taste of soap in there somewhere.

Sorry, rant off.

And no need for anti-soda Nazis to come in and tell me that soda will kill me, because I do not care. I have very few vices - this is one that I will have until the day I die (even if I die from soda intake).

It's called pop, not soda you heathen. :2razz:

Coke all the way, Pepsi is nasty. I hate when I go to a place and order a Coke and they're like "We don't have Coke, is Pepsi OK". No! Pepsi is not OK!

Mountain Dew Live Wire is the king of all Mountain Dews.

I like live wire too, it's nice because you can actually find that at most stores unlike baja blast.

I don't allow myself to drink Live Wire. It's like Slurm. You drink one, and it's delicious, but leaves you thirsty, so you drink another...which is delicious, but leaves you thirsty, so you drink another....

Hubs actually wanted the soda stream for flavored (or unflavored) carbonated water. He's a big fizzy water drinker.

When they first came out, I did a cost analysis of the cost of the soda stream, plus the carbonation refills, plus the syrup. Based on the output of a soda stream, it actually costs a little more to make, like say, 100 oz of soda from the soda stream as it does to purchase 100 oz of soda from the store.

So I'm not sure what the drive is behind wanting a soda stream unless you are one of these "save the planet from all these soda bottles" people, or maybe you just like really sweet, under-fizzy soda.

I don't use their syrups, too sweet for my tastes, and it is easier to use than carrying home bottles of soda. Convenience is the draw. I prefer more carbonization than most, and get that after adjusting the gas feed on the device. We have two different models, the adjustment is made in two different places. My wife likes the convenience of seltzer on demand, and we have tried various home seltzer makers that weren't as good. Different strokes for different folks. Whatever works well for you is fine by me.

One of the benefits of living in a large urban environment, one can always find hacks for every aspect of life.

One of a neighbor's sons, ships container cars of NYC tap water to California, bottles it as NYC Water and they retail for $2 per 12oz bottle. Our water is excellent, but hard to justify his earning $2 mil per month in gross revenues with about a 45% net. Go figure? He's doing better than some of the national brands.

Moxie is liquid tree bark.

Moxie introduced the first cola flavored carbonated beverage in the US. Moxie, the brand, which now belongs to Coca Cola, once offered 20 different flavors plus an assortment of baked snack foods. The brand is still popular in northern Massachusetts, northern Ohio, and all in between.

Their first ad read "You need Moxie to drink Moxie," was telling. The stuff tasted horrible. :) My first dog was named Moxie. He ignored my every command. :) I think he was smarter than me, and I loved him.

Aspirin was first made from willow tree bark.

"Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger,
No Coke! Pepsi!"

May Belushi rest in peace.

Dr. Pepper will kill you but it tastes great. I have not had one in months but I remember it fondly.

Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Max

I find Diet Coke has a strange taste to it and can barely drink it. I stay away from regular coke or Pepsi to much sugar.

To me, there is almost nothing better that Dr. Pepper and Mexican Food!
