I don’t get it. If you’re at university (a place of higher learning) why segregate yourselves, if we’re truly all equal, get in there mix it up and be equal.

I happen to agree that a university is the LAST PLACE ON EARTH where ideological and cultural "safe spaces" should be a thing.
If individual groups are going to do such a thing, nobody can stop them, but campus administration should never play any role in actively endorsing or enabling it, or enforcing it.

If a group wants to voluntarily limit their association, it's their own business and it's on them only.

But that wouldn't be any different from darts players segregating themselves from balloon artists.

Great post, and using the "dart players vs balloon artists" to make your point was perfect, IMO! :lamo

The problem is that "certain people" want everyone to believe that the university is "going all Jim Crow on WHITE PEOPLE."
So I guess white people are now getting crosses burned, or being dragged behind pickup trucks.

I watched it. The dude's a weasel.

Question to the college students was, "Should blank students be allowed to choose segregating housing?"
Question to everyone else was, "Universities campuses are trying to separate students by skin color. Do you support that?"

Congratulations on having successfully programmed your brain into permanent 'White bad, Black good' mode. Not everyone can do that. I'm still stuck in wishy-washy 'skin tone' is a trivial difference brain setting.

Try harder, you can be a racist too.

I support Trump's tax cut. I support privatization. I oppose capital gains and death taxes. I believe money is power and in power to the people.

Are you doubting that I'm an interventionist. That's glaringly idiotic. See signature: Democratic Peace Theory. That's central to neocon interventionism.

I know what I am, and what you are - ignorant and spiteful.

Separating races in college is not only not a thing but it's illegal. Asking people on the street has long been a way of showing consensus when there isn't any -- just show the people who agree with your position.

Do you know, having lived in a couple of African countries and three Asian I don't really think so. Besides its difficult to be racist when one knows that 'races' do not in fact exist. Instead I'm a culturist ; widely different cultures do exist and some are imo better than others.

Fiscal conservatism and being a hawk while supporting tax cuts.... have your cake and eat it too!

I'll gut the social safety net, using some for reparations.

I'm very pro gun (army, one enlistment). Mildly pro life (ecocentrism). I'm socially progressive, except guns. Masters from Europe and Phd candidate from US (lived in Africa two years for dissertation research).

I know exactly what I am. My days of finding oneself are decades behind me.

And some guy with a skirt and poms poms for a signature ain't gonna confront me.

I find your opinions incoherent. This chart pre-dates the impending effect (impending even more acute wealth concentration and associated rising national debt) of the recent republic party passed tax cuts. Ironically, what you support results in the greatest threat to US national security....dramatically rising wealth inequality
and no tax policy addressing the increasing debt....

What can it be like believing in the opposite political positions of what the facts indicate is reasonable?

I think it is wrong not mention probably illegal to have separate accommodations based on race.

If minority students would like a home free of the majority power, that's fine. College is a place to experiment and find oneself, to seek both confrontation and safe space.

If I was black, I might like a dorm without ignorant and privileged punks running their mouths.

Are you saying the ignorant and privileged punks running their mouths are white kids??

Racially privileged, yes. Just the white people.

Then your saying there are no Racially privileged Blacks. It's just white people.

Only the majority power is capable of exercising privilege over the population. Would you like to explain how a group with 1% of the power is capable of creating and maintaining privilege over the group with 90% of the power?

….Racially privileged Blacks...

Please reveal where you are concealing this class of Americans....or at least describe them. I do not perceive them in the republic party congressional caucus or in the board rooms of fortune 100 companies, or in any detectable number, anywhere else!

Oprah? Condi? Can the bulk of this group you seem to imagine, fit in a Fiat 500?

What Is Behind the Persistence of the Racial Wealth Gap?
Feb. 28, 2019

…Black households in the United States have, on average, considerably less wealth than white households. In 2016, the average wealth of households with a head identifying as black was $140,000, while the corresponding level for white-headed households was $901,000, nearly 6.5 times greater.1 The fact that blacks, on average, have considerably less wealth than whites is troubling, not just because it is an inequality of outcomes, but also because it strongly suggests inequality of opportunity. The economic opportunities provided by wealth range from insuring consumption against disruptions to a household’s disposable income (such as surprise medical expenditures or unemployment spells) to enabling access to housing, good public schools, and postsecondary education. ..

Are there any all black schools???

I posted a question, why are you terrified to answer. You sure shut up all of a sudden. Answer the question

No one wants an all black school.

One in a few thousand minority students want a semester with a bed that doesn't have a confederate flag next door.

And some people are too ignorant, too callous or too outright racist to give them a break.
