Trump's antipathies, animosities, and vulgarities, have soured her enthusiasm for him. Even before Covid, she was indicating she might not vote him this time around. But despite her personal dislike of his ways, she does ardently believe pretty much everything he & Fox promote, including his being an economic marvel for the country - the likes of which have never been seen.

Interestingly enough though, she was taken back when we laid-out the trend lines in GDP, employment, unemployment, and the DOW - showing her there was no deviation over the past decade - including with Trump. That did surprise her. That was also around the time she was wavering on voting for him again, as she is a died-in-the-wool Catholic who is extremely reserved, proper, and despises vulgarity in words or actions. She also is also strongly compassionate to others, having come from humble beginnings and raised herself by her bootstraps. So she really despises Trump's mannerisms and cruelty very much, and that was a strong component in her decision. It appears she didn't like the man himself, when she got to know him better.

But don't ever underestimate how she still believes what he says & what he's selling! She does! And that was the point I was making, in response to your positing FL's voters will change their minds with DeSantis/Trump after seeing what's currently occurring. If these citizens primarily watch Fox and listen to DeSantis & Trump, they never will see the reality of the current events. Unless it knocks on their very door. And even then, I wouldn't doubt if some rationalize it away.

How would it be past by now? The coronavirus is near identical in function to the rinovirus aka the common cold and common flu, and corona viruses have existed for a long time, no science to date has stopped them nor will they likely ever be stopped, they are highly infectious constantly mutating viruses.

The only way to end a corona virus or rinovirus in humans would be to start nuclear war and eliminate every last person on earth so no humans could be left to be infected. The mere fact people think shutdowns and masks sop the virus show how far out of earth their logic is, first it was to flatten the curve to preserve hospital beds, now ya'll suddenly are demanding a shutdown until the virus goes away which you know will never happen in a million years it will just mutate like it has since the dawn of time as the common cold/flu.

Might as well just come out and say you either want the economy shut down until november because trump or you want the economy shut down because you fail to understand corona and rino viruses can not be stopped with any science to date and likely will never be stopped in anyones lifetime who is posting here.

Those countries though did not get past it was my point, they may have handled the the fallout better but even the worst biologists scientists etc know the coronavirus can not be stopped, it can just lay dormant and mutate. Whether next years strain is worse or better is yet to be seen as viral mutations are not highly predictable.



But think of it like he flu, we do flu shot's every year yet numerous people catch the flu including those who got their flu shots, and numerous people catch the cold multiple times. The reason is mutation, if you catch strain xyz of the cold you become immune to xyz, but if xyz mutates to yzx you can catch the cold again, with flu shots they are immunizing against known strains, but they can not prevent strain mutations from infecting that cycle.

These viruses are a way of life, and have existed among mankind longer than science has existed, but with modern science we should no be setting the goal of erradicating it as a condition for restoring the economy as that is not a possibility, as it can not be destroyed from circulation. What is most likely is that from further infections it will mutate and become weaker, and people will not ive a crap until the next super srain comes along and likely throw everything we learned now out the window much like people now through everything learned from 1918 out the window despite being relevant.

If we add in those who carry the antibodies, the death rate goes down to 0.9. We are in the early stages of testing for antibodies. The data has our back.

Florida has more seniors than any state yet it has the fewer deaths for that group

Probably because seniors stay home like sensible people. The young'uns go out and party and wind up sick. I know you've got this idea that the whole world is lying except for Trump and deSantis, but it ain't so.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. But I do want to point out NY City and Boston had some of the biggest protests and cases of Covid did not increase. It seems that cities or states that were doing things to beat the virus back did not see an increase after the protests.

Florida's covid update today.

In Duval, (Republican Convention site) there has been a 10% decline in ED visits.

We now have symptomatic lanes with a 24 HR result turnouround.

ED (emergency) visits:

July 7 peaked at 2500 statewide
less than 1000 on the 17th

1,000 influenza like disease on the 7th
500 on the 17th.

There have been more discharges over last few days.

Soon we will have 1700 beds open in covid only nursing facilities.
