I knew him in NJ in High School when he was Tom Mapother. Unlike Andrew McCarthy, who I knew quite well in High School, Tom was a little bit of nothing. I met him at a friend's party and she was in a play with him. I barely remember the event.

I didn't know I had anything figured out. Interesting. Maybe I'll be able to solve the mystery of the Las Vegas shooter's motive too.

Given that the local white supremacist leader has admitted it's so and that they gave him paramilitary training, it's not a secret. A regular "Fine people" guy.

It may seem strange to you, but many of us don't believe everything that comes out of the mouths local white supremacist leaders.

Heard quite a few people saying this kid was a democrat, involved with muslim terrorist groups, part of Antifa. Nope. He's part of the good ol' boys network. If this were a muslim linked attack most people would have no problem labeling it terrorism. This is American terrorism. These white power groups need to be treated as terrorist groups.

I think you Lefties are trying to hijack any tragedy to misuse it for your own singleminded political agenda. I was watching various news shows, and there were a variety of acquaintances of his interviewed, including hispanic/latino kids, and they didn't mention any racial angle.

All indications are that he was severely deranged so I do not doubt the reporting. White supremacist groups have a way of attracting the deranged. However, simply being a "white supremacist" does little to establish motive. This quote from the OP source seems likely...

He also said he had "trouble with a girl" and he believed the timing of the attack, carried out on Valentine's Day, wasn't a coincidence.

The first thought that entered my head as this was unfolding yesterday was that this happening on Valentines Day wasn't a coincidence.

Apparently (I read somewhere) he was kicked out of that school last year for beating up his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.
