Federal Panel Of Judges Dismisses All 83 Ethics Complaints Against Brett Kavanaugh

But the House certainly does and they can subpoena the FBI background reports and witnesses too. It's going to be a busy 2 years.

Yes, but there's another side to this. Turtle wasn't so far off the mark when he said, "If you try to shoot the king, you better not miss." My point is that unless the House is extremely confident that such an investigation can yield a positive result, then perhaps more circumspection may be wise. If they antagonize the bejeezus out of Kavanaugh to no avail, then all they've done is create a very, very angry life time Supreme Court Justice whose eyes will shoot laser beams at the mere sight of a case involving a right versus left issue.

The GOP made sure no evidence was brought forward. Now we have yet another slim ball on the court. Be happy, he's your kind of guy.

Was there any substantiating evidence brought forward by any person at any time in any forum in any form?

Please provide the link(s).

This is true and if Brett "behaves" he may be able to avoid future investigations. If he votes to protect Trump all bets are off.

Yes, if Brett acts like a partisan hack in his rulings then obviously there would be no reason not to investigate him since the feared outcome is the reality anyway.

The early data on Brett seems to point to a more "thoughtful" justice and less of a hack so he may be sensing his predicament.

Every new Supreme Court justice takes on the lifetime appointment differently. Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, who survived his confirmation battle in 1991 after similar accusations of sexual harassment, went virtually silent on the bench. Last year, Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch made clear he would be his own man, dissenting on principle early and often.

Kavanaugh, by contrast, has sought to blend in seamlessly. He's been collegial with his colleagues on the left and right. He's been intently focused during oral arguments, like a student who sits in front and raises his hand often.

Perhaps most significantly – from the limited evidence – he has not joined the court's most conservative justices in public dissent on two major issues. Neither has Chief Justice John Roberts.
The early signs," says Ian Millhiser, senior fellow at the liberal Center for American Progress, "suggest that he is more Roberts than Gorsuch.”

After a confirmation process that lasted from early July to early October, Kavanaugh, 53, had good reason to keep a low profile.
He was the second nominee of a controversial president. He came with a lengthy paper trail – so lengthy that Senate Republicans refused to release it all – that included stints investigating Bill Clinton and serving George W. Bush.

He sat on the DC Circuit court for 12 years and provided opinions on over 300 cases. Can you point to any cases where he displayed any inclination to bring a partisan hack? It’s kind of amazing that everyone acts like Kavanaugh is an unknown quantity when he has such a long judicial track record.

and if he gets another case like Gore v Bush, and it comes down to his vote, what do you think he will do. You'd hope he would decide based on his honest view of the law right? but if he's on the fence, what do you think is most likely to happen. and if its four-four-you won't be able to call for an impeachment if he votes against your beloved Democrats. or against gun control, or gay rights or abortion or other issues so dear to the left

the reasons why Feinslime and Creepy Porn Lawyer etc tried so hard to engage in dirty tricks against this man was that his record as a judge was not suitable to help the scum block his nomination. They are terrified that he was not going to follow Kennedy's positions on abortion and gays

Like I said if he acts like a partisan hack he can look forward to lots more hearings and digging for dirt in his past. I think he is well aware that he got a pass in his confirmation hearings. A House investigation will not be so kind.

you are confused and apparently ignorant about the entire environment. A house investigation is worthless with the senate the way it is. I understand that partisan hacks are upset that Trump rubbed their noses in this matter. that the creepy porn lawyer and FeinSlime failed in their disgusting underhanded attacks. But keep antagonizing the man: don't blame me when he looks for some paybacks. and guess what-there is not a damn thing you can do about it if he does-because if he is successful, he will have at least four other Justices on his side

His ranting testimony at the hearings did not provide much confidence unfortunately. But the early indications of his performance as Justice are heartening. If he keeps it up he just might avoid another embarrassing stint in front of the House judicial committee. I hope he keeps that in mind.

The pursuit of the truth is never "worthless". That said his own behavior will determine his future and the Senate is not going to stay the "way it is" forever either. If he keeps up acting more like Roberts than Gorsuch the Dems might just let the travesty of his confirmation hearings slide. I think he is well aware of that too.

It’s pretty disingenuous to think that circus of a hearing is the totality of his record when he has such a long trail of judicial opinions. Like I said, if you can point to any evidence in his previous opinions of him acting like a partisan hack, I’d love to see it.

You are asking me to put aside a confirmation hearing that was a partisan sham but you are right that his rulings are the real test and so far he is passing. I hope he keeps it up.

LOL! IOW, he's completely unsuited for the position he holds and is a ****ty judge.

Thanks for clearing that up, although he pretty much made that crystal clear at his Kabuki Theater senate hearings.

see-when you claim his confirmation was a travesty, I cannot take anything you say about this issue as anything other than bitter partisan hackery

LOL-you're mad that the slimy despicable actions of Creepy Porn Lawyer, Spartacus, the hateful harridan from Hawaii and FeinSlime failed to work.

Nah, unlike those who do not adhere to any principles, I simply see Kavanaugh for what he is, and am capable of honestly looking at his past and his actions that clearly show any rational adult who's not drunk for power how unfit he is for the bench. Nor do I have to desperately pretend to myself that what happened in his case was 'despicable' in order not to look more deeply into his candy-assed, self-entitled past as a political operative and hack.

Judges should follow the law, not look for payback.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

Well, I know one thing. When it comes to the ones the conservatives say are 'witch hunts', there tends to be lots of indictments, guilty pleas and convictions.

What for taxes and living to FBI, but don’t forget new information is coming out with the emails and uranium one investigation, stay tuned

yep judges should follow the law-but so should senators and creepy porn lawyers.

I will wait with baited breath. How come people keep on talking about the urainium one, and nothing ever gets found?

You say while completely ignoring his 12 years on the DC Circuit court. Got it.

You keep bragging about a record that is spotty at best. He had many of his decisions overturned by the SC and was especially bad with corporate cases and pollution control. Now that he is on the SC all eyes are on him and that seems to help with his thinking. He knows he's on thin ice and the only threat to his job is being a blind partisan.

Take, for example, EME Homer City Generation, LP v. EPA, where several states, local governments and industry groups challenged an EPA rule that controlled the spread of air pollution across state lines. The rule would have ameliorated an interstate air quality problem by developing a unified regulatory approach to regional sources of pollution to meet air quality targets. But Judge Kavanaugh refused to defer to the EPA and held that the rule had to be significantly reworked so that it operated solely on a state-by-state basis.

Judge Kavanaugh’s decision, had it not been significantly reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court, would have made the regulation less effective and more costly to implement. That’s partly because businesses would have needed to work with a patchwork of regulations and requirements that differed from state to state, driving up compliance costs.

So make a bona fide, concrete case, examining his judicial record, of being a "****ty judge" and which shows him being "unfit for the bench." There's an ample record to choose from, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Show your work. Explain in full. Your simply declaring him such doesn't suffice.
