Fauci says it's time to start reopening

Florida added 46 deaths. Is that not good news compared to other death totals in other big states?

Stop the clickbait BS!

Guess that went over you head and you didn't even need to click anything. The point, is we've reached the time when states that opened early are showing a rise in their numbers. Opening churches is only going to add to that. But like I said open it all up and let the chips fall where they may.

Fauci's comments are all over the net. Feel free to read it anywhere.

It's fascinating to me that it comes from an interview, not as a statement from a government forum. Its like the leadership of our government just can't be bothered.

Sounds great.

At this point I say open the whole country open up as Trump is pushing and not with precautions like Fauci is suggesting. Let the chips fall where they may. I'd venture to say the majority of people that end up running out to socialize, may catch it and then possibly die will be the same people who would be flocking to a Trump rally if he had the balls to actually hold one. Maybe they can get some cool little Trump shaped hydroxychloroquine tablets as a parting gift.

Please stop making stuff up..... the president has said the reopening of the country should be done safely!!

Absolutely, that's the key that most conservatives want to ignore. All they hear is "it's time to start opening" they overlook the important part, the key to not expanding and exploding this pandemic any further than it should.

WRONG... wild ass charges with zero merit. Always attacking the president, republicans or conservatives!

If churches practice social distancing and people wear masks they are probably safer places to be than grocery stores.

All states are expecting the numbers to rise as they open. The virus has not gone away. If hospitalizations go up and threaten capacity then they will have to take action. If there are hot spots then they will have do what is necessary. The point, is the economy has to start opening up. People are going to have to live with the danger and take appropriate risks. This can all be minimized if people and businesses do the right thing. I don't think enough people will do the right thing. This will invite stricter governmental measures. This is gonna be a roller coaster for quite a while.

Flattening the curve meant slowing teh spread, not ending it. A rise today from a low, rather than tacking more on top of the original spike is the whole point.

As always, feel free to give up your income and lock yourself in your home until there is a vaccine.

If you consider trying to prevent Trump from becoming an authoritarian, then yes we will attack any man that threatens our democracy as he has been for 3 years, and as an American citizen, if you are one, you should be too.

Did you hear everything he told Congress on national television? Very conservative news sources cherry-pick what they like while keeping the context a secret. Their real mission is to make more people vote for Republicans, especially if all of those candidates are at the far right of the political spectrum.
Classic LL deflection.

My income is the same and I've actually saved quite a bit of money over the past couple of months. I even got reimbursed from my auto insurance so that was a plus. I'm going out as much as I'd like while practicing the guidelines set by the CDC. I don't plan on visiting any high traffic areas for at least a few months, but I'n certainly out and about. :)

It is showing you the way to proof that hearing everything, not just a few edited snippets, is very important. There is nothing political about how context is removed from what people say or write.

You can actually control whether he drives unless he's out stealing cars. And if that's the case have him arrested.

I mean, just quarantine him. Works to stop all sorts of behavior. Otherwise, yes, if they want to do it they will.

As I pointed out, "flattening the curve" is meant to reduce the peak infection, not reduce the total number of infected. When you successfully flatten the curve you will see two or more low peaks rather than one high peak.

Posting increases of cases following a reopening isn't an indictment of reopening, it is the expected result of the "flattening the curve" strategy. Some of those who would have been infected in the first wave were delayed to a second wave.

How is it that healthcare facilities in Georgia are at capacity yet the pandemic chart only shows volatility not an upward trend.

Covidiots have been spreading this for months. If we were disciplined enough to stop it on an individual level, we probably could. But instead people ride subways and keep their hair salons open and re open their car factories even as this virus rages across the globe. That is why stuff was shutdown, and even then Covidiots have been spreading it. 100K people who thought that they were invincible are dead, and many more to come, sadly.

I mean, you're just stating the obvious, but ok.

Something about their brains can only understand "don't restrict anything and don't ever take a single precaution" and "shut down everything completely and never leave your house for any reason ever". They also can't grasp the difference between isolation and quarantine and think they were trapped inside their homes for those weeks. It's amazing that they can see their computer screens through their fake tears.

You stated we shouldn't need the government to shut us down; clearly we do, in some cases. People in many states are doing ok even without mandatory shutdowns, but in some states people are still riding subways. It's not a one size fits all level of discipline in this country.

I can't help you understand my simple point. If people weren't idiots and acted responsibly, government shutdowns of economic sectors wouldn't be necessary.

Heck, we wouldn't need government at all!

Yes, obviously the lockdown is harmful, and the goal is to find a reasonable compromise. There are too many Democrats who can only see one side of it, especially if they have plenty of money and are not being inconvenienced too much themselves.

Oh really? Cite one.

No, they're not. Who in their right mind politicizes a global pandemic on an internet board completely evidence free? It's ****ing stupid.
Just read the bills being passed. Like the PPP loan giving government influence in the church; which gives the church influence into the government.

That last $1200 stimulus check they sent out...they gave themselves $57,000 each.
