I picked up lunch today at the KFC drive-thru.
We're all very proud of you.

Being from the south and knowing what good fried chicken is. It isn't KFC.Getting fast service doesn't mean the food is garbage.
I picked up lunch today at the KFC drive-thru. 6 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, a buttermilk biscuit, green beans and a couple ears of corn.
That's not garbage. That's a tasty and nutritious lunch.
Doesn't change the fact that chicken is nutritious food. We're all very proud of you.

One of the biggest protests globally in solidarity with eachother all revolving around raising the minimum wage. I support these protests, and believe not only should the minimum wage but one of the most profitable industires should be paying their employees much much better. Im behind the $15 demand.
i started out in 1986 making at 3.50 an hour. nearly 25 later in 2011 i was making 15.70 an hour at that job. i worked my butt off to get what i was earning and these people just want it given to them.
HELL no!!
btw you didn't address the points i made.
That machine can't unload the food truck or make your burger.
If a $15 minimum wage was ever passed all that would be accomplished is that the fast food industry would finally go automated.
The $15/hour fast food jobs that are left would be for those few who are needed to service the hamburger making robots...
The only thing holding back automation in a fast food restaurant is that it is still cheaper to have employees.
Automation is going to happen eventually anyway.
Most if not all fast food restaurants do not accept tips. Worked at Subway for some time during highschool and we were told never to accept tips.
Whole bunch of idiots that think flipping burgers and cleaning dirty fryer's is worth $15 an hour. It's not. I mock anyone that went on "strike" and anyone that thinks that wages should be about fairness and not market value.
You want more money? Go earn it, by making yourself worth more money.

Community colleges offer an aa tops, which in turn is sill expensive for low income individuals You didn't post 10k. You posted a proposal that is being discussed. I'm talking about reality not a what if.
and the pay off hardly allows them to recover from accumulated debt.
Lol thanks.
You know, sometimes I really do get frustrated with how little freedom we have here. But then I remember FOX news (which I still do watch from time to time admittedly for comedic reasons mostly) and I certainly wouldn't want that kind of freedom over here. MSNBC is terrible but their bigotry isn't as bad as FOX.
Precisely. Who cares if those young folks and those with two jobs are out of work, right?
the tuitions are increasing while our ability to afford such increases is diminishing. Couple that with the pay off being 50/50 bachelors are leaving college and are unemployed at an increasing rate.

I don't listen to Obama, I watch Hannity. It's hilarious. You should stop listening to President Obama so much.
You're out of your depth in this discussion because you refuse to do research.
Student loans are increasingly causing student debt that can not be payed off. All because no only is the college degree that is earned not assuring anybody will actually get a high paying career but when they don't get the career that they spent so much money in education for upon returning to minimum wage the income is not enough to placate the debt.

Again reality is different from your world of fantasy.
Turned out it was put on by SEIU. How astonishing.
Your personal story doesn't refute the reality of what the majority is going through. And the majority of those struggling to get through college because the financial burden and rising cost of living is a reality. The income required is beginning to supersede what a middle class, let alone a lower class, citizen can afford no matter the amount of work put in. You choice to ignore these variables is willful ignorance.
