Ok, so lefties have been screaming about omg omg omg we need racial equality and omg omg omg we need police reform

They even justified vandalism to get everyone's attention...

Meanwhile, black Republican (well, there's the problem right there) Tim Scott had what looks like a great Bill that would actually ACCOMPLISH something...you know, something that was beyond mere rhetoric..

And the Dems rejected it!

The Bill would have given Dems 80 percent of what they claimed to want!

But the always- political Dems need an issue in this election year...

I can't see how this works in their favor, though...unless they are totally counting on the low info voters...and no one ele

Link to whatever it is you're talking about, please.

The GOP could write a bill titled "FIXING RACISM FOREVER" but make it a tax cut for the rich, and OP's type would accuse the Democrats of never wanting to fix racism if they rejected it.

If it is the police reform bill that the GOP came up with that I read about, it accomplishes maybe 20%. I think you have things slanted in reverse. The only issue I had with that bill as far as Democrats denying it was that Democrats refused to even negotiate about it because they want to pass their own version. I am tired of both sides dragging and stamping their feet like children instead of working together to find a middle ground.

Tim Scott was not exactly dragging his feet and he DID try to work w the dims

Right. Tim Scott is the usual, an Uncle Tom

Not really black...ok, I get it

Bored but I do get it

What are you talking about? Nothing was brought up about Tim Scott's character in that post. Why did you jump to a defensive position so fast?

Yawn. Utterly irrelevant to what I posted. Sorry you feel emotionally compelled to use black people as political props, but not at all surprised.

I accept your admission that you lied.

I know. I said that (or at least implied it). But how many times has McConnell blocked legislation purely because it was Democratic legislation? Both sides block legislation way too often just because of the divisiveness between parties.

The GOP's bill barely addressed choke holds, it did not end "no-knock" warrants, and it did nothing to address union interference and conflicts of interest when prosecuting police for crimes. The bill barely qualifies as a change to the status quo. 80%? I think I was generous to even say 20% after rereading it.

Admittedly I haven't read it but watched Scott explain it and how he offered to give more to the Dems. It does NOT look good for the dems

I do not know if you figured it out yet, but Fox News reporters do not like Democrats, so nothing they cover will look good for "the dems."

The federal government cannot ban choke holds, that’s a 10th amendment issue. Also literally no one has died from a chokehold, it’s the safest form of restraining a non compliant suspect there is. That is neither here nor there.

The federal government likewise has no power to end “no knock warrants” which are essential for prosecution of drug offenses.

I watched Tim Scott for crying out loud
