The part about DNA evidence being enough to submit in a courtroom is true, however, as the article states, the DNA test itself couldn't establish whether she has North or South American ancestry, let alone prove she was Cherokee.

That was because the testers did not have access to native North American genes to compare with so they used a S. American Indian gene which are similar. You do know that all native Americans came from Asia.
