fake noose

something missing in Bubba's garage (no trophy).

Repubs have been convicted of the largest crimes in an election, ie; voter fraud.

Only repubs?

There is no 'pure as the driven snow here'. The first two are Democrats sitting in office, so used their office to corrupt, or at least attempt to corrupt, an election.

It is a legitimate concern that an election by mail-in ballots will not be an accurate vote.

It is racist. I suppose how heinous someone finds racism is a personal thing.

It is important not to ignore the context of their statement. “Late this afternoon, NASCAR was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of the 43 team. We are angry and outraged and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act. We have launched an immediate investigation and will do everything we can to identify the person(s) responsible and eliminate them from the sport. As we have stated unequivocally, there is no place for racism in NASCAR and this act only strengthens our resolve to make the sport open and welcoming to all.”

The context was a noose was made and was found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace’s team. From this NASCAR used the word “heinous” and “racism.” The use of those words, in this context, make sense where NASCAR hastily concluded the noose was made for the purpose of being placed in Bubba Wallace’s garage stall and displayed in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace, thereby constituting a “heinous” and “racism.” Indeed, if it were true the noose was made to be placed and displayed in a black driver’s garage stall, such an act would be “heinous” and “racist.” However, none of those details were known to be true or factual at the time NASCAR made its statement, and rather than wait for an investigation to find supporting evidence for those conclusory remarks, NASCAR made those conclusory remarks anyway.

The statement by NASCAR hastily concluded a “heinous” act directed at Bubba and hastily concluded it was “racism” towards Bubba, a black driver.

What was the logical conclusion from the evidence? That the noose had been there for months and no one had said anything? That seems kinda far fetched, wouldn't you agree?

Decorative nooses are racist. How many are you currently aware of?

The logical conclusion at the time NASCAR made its statement was they and the authorities will be investigating an incident involving a noose that possibly could have been directed at Bubba Wallace, or it is alleged to have been directed at Bubba Wallace.

And whether something is “far fetched” is based upon the evidence. It has been reported, and there is some video evidence from NASCAR, and Garage Cam, going back to 2017, of nooses appearing in garages and hanging in a similar location as the one found in Bubba’s garage. The FBI reports they have photographic evidence a noose was hanging in the garage assigned to Bubba as far back as October of 2019.

The above evidence does support the notion “no one said anything” because the environment back then wasn’t what it is today. They were used and nobody gave it any thought about using them as objectionable at the time because the environment was entirely different than now. Hell, the environment back then welcomed the prominent display of the Confederate flag and NASCAR’s reputation as a sport predominantly infatuated with by southern, racist, red necks preceded it. Yeah, the evidence fully supports the notion a noose was used and nobody said anything back then.

A decorative noose is racist and should be reported. That's in every employees handbook. Not debating it.

Nascar did exactly the right things. An immediate investigation and counter-surge.

Bravo, Nascar. Well done.

Nascar did exactly the right things. An immediate investigation and counter-surge against the most likely scenario.

Bravo, Nascar. Well done.

All worthy of praise and to be lauded. Except none of that mitigates against their hasty conclusions made before the evidence.

“Should be” and what is in fact done are at times not the same. That could be in NASCAR’s employee handbook and, to no one’s surprise, people apparently didn’t follow the employee handbook, if they even bothered to read and know that was in the handbook. Let’s not resort to the pretense employees dutifully and faithfully follow their employees handbooks, much less read them.

I know it wasn't reported. My claim is that would be an inferior conclusion.

1. Hate crime is more likely than unreported or unremoved noose there for months.

2. If it could be a hate crime or could just be racism, best to take on the greater crisis immediately. Deal with the greatest threat. Take it down. Then if it turns out to only be racism, you've acted in a way that inspires confidence in your further actions.

Nascar made no mistake. They immediately went to the FBI and counter-punched.

When a unit is ambushed, everyone must return fire within three seconds. That's the only way out. Nascar responded immediately and with overwhelming force. If it was an ambush, they were still gonna win.

The inferior conclusion is the one lacking supporting evidence. Your claim below lacks supporting evidence.

1. Hate crime is more likely than unreported or unremoved noose there for months.

The above statement lacks supporting evidence. Could it be true? Sure, but there is no evidence to support your statement.

Rather, the evidence shows nooses were used in other garages, and apparently a noose, maybe the noose, has in fact been in the garage in question since last October. A reason why it went unreported? Exactly as I said, nobody gave it any thought.

“The Talladega garages were replaced before the 2019 race at Talladega, according to longtime Fox Sports reporter Bob Pockrass, but a noose was also shown in the 2019 episode of “Garage Cam,” located in the same stall Wallace was assigned this week.

Pockrass, who has covered NASCAR for more than three decades, said he had never noticed nooses at race tracks before, but added that he wasn’t necessarily looking for them, either.

He shared a screenshot from a video he took in October 2019 at Talladega, which shows the noose in the fourth stall, which then was occupied by Paul Menard, who is white, and was later assigned to Wallace.

Wood Brothers Racing, the team representing Menard, released a statement that one of its employees recalled seeing the same pull-down rope in the same garage last fall.

“Although the noose is now known to have been in garage number 4 in [October] 2019, nobody could have known Mr. Wallace would be assigned to garage number 4 last week,” the FBI said.”

2. If it could be a hate crime or could just be racism, best to take on the greater crisis immediately. Deal with the greatest threat. Take it down. Then if it turns out to only be racism, you've acted in a way that inspires confidence in your further actions.

Except, this doesn’t address their rush to judgment in their public statement. They can do all of the above without a public statement rushing to judgment.

That seems like a lot of work to get upset about a perfect response.

What's really upsetting?
