Fact checking the president.

Although I do appreciate Twitter's effort and gesture, I really do not see what good it does.

First, the people who already know the Liar-in-Chief is full of bull**** don't read Trump tweets to begin with.

Secondly, those who do follow the orange tweety-bird don't give a damn about the facts anyway and they certainly won't bother clicking a fact check link that is going to tell them something they don't want to hear.

So, really. What's the point? Why even bother?

Yep. Outside of Trump's behavior, still follow the money.

Not a direct comparison, but I think we can remember the corporate world taking a stand for the gay rights movement. It worked well. Advertisers pull out. Other sponsors pull out. Minds were changed.

Trump is the president, and Twitter is not the NCAA Tournament or network TV. But if anything it shows that whatever it costs for banner space on an account with 60 million plus followers, there is a market out there ready to support it. (Otherwise Trump would be banned. And those followers are very willing to have their pockets picked. I think they're proud of it.)

I would say that was true if he was just anybody else in the country but he is the president, and his lies matter, they take a direction that no other person can and it's dangerous. Look what he just did with the flip of his little finger, poof, there you go twitter, I win. :twisted:

That is BS. Those sites told the truth and the truth is neutral. Trump has millions of followers that makes fact checking him more important than others but if you point out others that lie I'm sure they will fact check them too.

Twitter doesn't need to provide any context or "checking" of anything said by any POTUS. There are literally thousands of places to go without twitter tipping the scale. They're just exposing their agenda. Douchebaggery in the guise of public service. The Karens of the internet.
