Fact check: Trump, 15 false claims over 76 minutes

Fact check: Trump's Orlando rally featured more than 15 false claims over 76 minutes

That's a lot of whoppers.

I'm still somewhat amazed (much less today than I was a year ago) that his supporters like being lied to so often. I'd consider it insulting my intelligence if the guy I backed lied to me over 10 times per hour.

What gives with this? Why do they accept it?

They're like Jehova Witnesses; confront them and they'll just give you a vacuous grin. They simply don't care because they believe 100% that Trump is achieving what it says on that bloody hat.

Yeah, l'll be sure to do this when many from your team stop shooting down Fox News as a legitimate source....

Hey friend... what goes around comes around.

Have a nice day!

Fox is a legitimate source for hot blondes for Trumpists to leer at. Not much else; it's the Fisher-Price of 'news'.

Is this your court of law?
I already gave you my testimony when you questioned me the last time.

No, I'm trying to understand why you said "enough said" when you didn't say anything. I'm trying to figure out your position, and you keep ducking and dodging.

Why so defensive? Did I miss a post? Last I read, you didn't answer the questions at all, you just said something about Fox, and stomped off...my apologies if I missed a post, I can't find it. :)

One more time, because I'm interested in understanding you, my friend... Are you saying that the things CNN is saying are lies are true, or are you saying that Trump didn't say those things at his rally?

CNN reports... CNN has been anti-trump every since he was elected, CNN cut their coverage when the 20,000 + people there started chanting CNN sucks. Sorry Calamity (not), 20,000 disagree with your charge of mentally disturbed and this is just the start.

Well of course they are anti-trump. He has tried to foment a boycott of AT&T, and it is quite possible that he used the government quash AT&T-Time Warner merger.

He's also a cruel, congenital liar and autocrat.

So what's your point?

Trump tells them what they want to believe. They accept it due to confirmation bias. They actually believe that Trump is telling them the truth, and that anyone who counters his lies is suffering from TDS.

Ironically, Republicans and Democrats alike insist “it is very important for elected officials to be honest and ethical (91%), to be knowledgeable on the issues (89%) and to admit when they are wrong (82%). Roughly two-thirds say it is very important for elected officials to treat opponents with respect (68%) and to be willing to compromise with them (65%).” Republicans, it seems, are in deep denial about the president they fervently support.

In sum, most Americans want better discourse, more honesty and more civil conduct, although they are less willing to recognize the problem on their own side. Unfortunately, Republicans seem to have lowered their standards to tolerate a president who is everything — boorish, cruel, dishonest, rude — they once claimed to despise. Democrats would do well not to imitate Trump but to give the country an alternative to the man who has done more to debase American politics than anyone in my lifetime.

Delusional

That’s a really good question with probably several good answers, but the root of his support, IMO, is that he’s the guy who speaks to their basest emotions (fear, prejudice, selfishness, and pettiness) and tells them that they’re right and everyone else is out to destroy America.

That and they’re incredibly stupid.

Sooo….by what goes around comes around, you're essentially you're saying you're fine with looking like a dumbass in order to scratch some revenge itch? You making yourself to be intellectually empty is somehow getting back at us?

To be completely clear, I in no way think you are a dumbass...which is why this is so bizarre for me. From here it looks like you're literally taking a bullet for the president...lol...except instead of ending up dead, you end up unable to be taken seriously.

Not sure, Trix, my friend, but I think this approach might be backfiring on you a bit...probably better to say nothing, this is just...odd.

Why bother factchecking Trump? Everyone knows he's a chronic liar. His base doesn't care, and the rest of the conservatives just find our outrage endlessly entertaining.

How many times did he mention Hillary? Did anyone count?

Heya Trix.

I'd like to argue...not enough said. I am curious to understand which of the claims made by CNN you would refute. :)

Good luck with that.

He's a chronic exaggerator, which is different. It is common but not accurate to claim his exaggerations are lies. Also, some of his biggest stretches turned out to be true, eg the FBI really was spying on him.

You got that right! Except for the stupid part of course, must be tough thinking of anyone who disagrees with you as stupid because you have a whole would of people who would.

It's not about disagreeing with other people, it's about disagreeing with facts.

Actually the FBI was investigating him and had a warrant to legally eavesdrop on conversations some of the criminals working for him had. Let;s keep it real.

Because they're butt-hurt over 8 years of Obama, and they are willing to "stick it to the Libs" at any cost.

The question is, when is “at any cost”????????

I don't know who actually expected Trump to tell the truth at one of his rallies though.
Anyone who is not already a Trump hater.

Spy is the correct term. That's why a US Attorney has been tasked to find out why the FBI applied for the warrant and whether they fudged paperwork to get it.

BTW The eavesdropping from the warrant turned up nothing illegal.

So, "They want to destroy you" is just exaggeration? Good to know he doesn't really hate liberals, and isn't really trying to fan the flames of hatred and division.

And FYI, the FBI was conducting a legitimate investigation for legitimate reasons. That "spying" rhetoric is just another false narrative from Trump. But you go ahead and keep drinking what he's handing out, calling it Kool-aid.

I generally don’t rely on site like this.

And I don’t get my news from television. I only turn it on to see what people are being told, and how receptive they are.

Watching any part of the Trump rally last night was appalling.

Of course, he lied and race baited openly. We all expected that.

But what was really frightening was watching Sham Hammity spit and spew the vilest sort of vitriolic nonsense afterwards. I don’t normally watch Fox at all, (although I do listen to their feed on Serius during the day, to see what they are telling people).

Fox is a full fledge Ministry of Propoganda at this point..

And while Nazi comparisons aren’t much welcome (or always applicable), Hannity sounded a lot like Goebells after one of Hitler’s speeches. Both in tone, and hyperbolic nonsensical substance.

I didn’t think I would every hear commentary like that in the United States of America, ever.

ok so libs, name the worst dastardly lie in there and lets go over it then..

looks like a bunch of nitpicking to me.

Well, there were enough “man on the street” interviews of people in line for the Trump show (and it is a show), who said “trump doesn’t lie”, to suspect there might have been some expection.

Either that, or a confirmation of the fact that this audience doesn’t mind being lied to.
