Exploiting the Ugliness of Mt Rushmore

"Indigenous people" killed each other, enslaved each other, ate each other, and in general treated the land they lived on like locusts exploiting the resources in any given part of the land they were on until the resources were killed off and then moved on to other areas where they did the same, often killing off tribes in those areas to take what they had. This notion that 'the land is sacred' is bull****. If you want to see how sacred land is to the tribes see what they do to the land they have.

Now to be fair...thats the great sin of living as a conquered people on gifted land. Reservations were a mistake. Life on most reservations is pure hell. The successful Indians leave those lands and assimilate.

History teaches us that the indigenous people knew far more about how to mistreat other indigenous people long before European settlers ever came to America.

Trump's base will like it. Trump's base is mostly high school educated people who are afraid of black people.

Trump's base will eat this rally up. It's a stick in the eye to people who believe the virus is a real threat, and it's a stick in the eye of the left.

But I think for the rest of us, what Trump is doing seems a little stupid.

I think pretty much everybody, even us Trump supporters, know the native Americans were treated poorly during the western expansion.
That's not really the point.
The point is the attempt to erase American history by a small group of extremists.
It reminds me of ISIS destroying antiquities. It's sick.

So,Trump holding a Nazi rally on controversial ground escaped you because...liberals?

Not having a rally on stolen land would be a great start.

I can agree of not having a rally especially because of CV19.

Stolen land is such nonsense. You can do better.

I personally don't know any Nazis. I have known quite a few native Americans.

Trump seems to leave no controversial stones unturned. His intention to hold another rally, this one on sacred "Indian land" in front of a giant monument to four white men who led the genocide of those indigenous Americans is rather obscene.

Thoughts?

I wonder if the folks the Lakota took it from in the first place feel the same way.

Somehow I rather doubt they’d share the same....charitable.....association of the Lakota’s actions.

Problem is, every inch of the earth has probably been considered “stolen” by someone at some point.

Ya. That should be Stalin, Lenin and Che carved up there, right?

I don't think Stalin would be liberal enough for them. Che might make the cut. Maybe.

Nothing but race-baiting crybaby crap.

Here's something for you to chew on: Most of the US is "stolen land" according to the America Haters like you, which means Democrats are just as guilty as you are making Trump out to be.

read and weep, or pretend it doesn't matter.

In 1868, Two Nations Made a Treaty, the U.S. Broke It and Plains Indian Tribes are Still Seeking Justice
In 1868, the United States entered into the treaty with a collective of Native American bands historically known as the Sioux (Dakota, Lakota and Nakota) and Arapaho. The treaty established the Great Sioux Reservation, a large swath of lands west of the Missouri River. It also designated the Black Hills as “unceded Indian Territory” for the exclusive use of native peoples. But when gold was found in the Black Hills, the United States reneged on the agreement, redrawing the boundaries of the treaty, and confining the Sioux people—traditionally nomadic hunters—to a farming lifestyle on the reservation. It was a blatant abrogation that has been at the center of legal debate ever since.

...your call.

Problem is, every inch of the earth has probably been considered “stolen” by someone at some point.
Same applies.

Reparations.

But what is their legal standing in court? The fed govt already awarded back interest on payment to the Sioux for the Black Hills in 1980 which is settled law by the SC (The Sioux have refused acceptance because they want the land instead).

BTW, opening the Black Hills to gold miners is what got Custer, and later the Sioux, wiped out.

Remember when people used to say "Indian giver"? Talk about projection--that term was pretty much the definition of it.

Ya. That should be Stalin, Lenin and Che carved up there, right?

If that was the case it would be the greatest democrat holy ground ever.

I can't imagine hating America like you leftists do.

I can't imagine hating an entire group of people for there political lean like the Righties do. They are unhinged in there hatred.

They've spewed their false narratives so long that they actually believe their own lies now. It will serve them right to have their asses handed to them in the fall.

Right. Take for example the fake Russia fiasco.

I remember. Never directed at me, though. Of course, that's easy to say when you don't give anybody anything.:)
