The judge is the one that determines in the final course, who the patron can hold civilly liable for damages

I agree it was not a crime though the individual workers could be named in a civil lawsuit as representatives of their employer, The Cheesecake Factory.
In a perfect world, The Cheesecake Factory would not have to put out their monies for having these racist workers on their staff. How the heck were they to know that their waitstaff were a bunch of bigoted, harassers and racists? But we don't live in a perfect world, and unfortunately The Factory's insurance company is libel for the damages caused by their dumbass employees.

Interesting...since businesses I have managed for well over 3 decades have been sued numerous times in that span with no crimes in the mix....

Please tell me what contract was broken, or law, when the McDonalds customer sued and won for being served too hot a cup a coffee.

I don’t discount anyone suing for “anything” anymore....my trust in our judicial system went out the window years ago

Do I believe there is a case? Probably not...will that keep an ambulance chaser from suing Cheesecake Factory for as much as they think they can get away with....absolutely not....and companies settle because it is cheaper to do so

A guy tried just that when I was visiting friends.
Just because YOU did not have that experience, does not mean it did not happen to others.
...and it was not a car wreck, all i did was hit his truck door with mine.
evidently that all it took the trigger the SOB.

I was in her van with a heavier door than I was used to and it got away from me in the parking lot of a Dollar General.
The door smacked into this guy's truck and he came out with a pistol in-hand making death threats.
Not pointed at me, but it was in his hand.
...and he had no trigger control as his finger was in the trigger guard, not sticking out like trained people do.

I used my verbal skills to diffuse the situation, but I could tell had I said the wrong thing.....

Please do not have the audacity to tell me what my own personal experiences are.
