Eviction map

But what do you do if you have absolutely no other options other than the street or a shelter?

I have taken measures to prevent that possibility. The point is that your landlord does not owe you a free or reduced rent "option".

I know that very well. But what are people supposed to do, just die?

wait. i thought that...

“And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done."
— Donald Trump

What do you expect a landlord not getting paid rent to do - just suck it up and provide free land/housing?

Of course they are! Once they've lost their income, they are no longer consumers, they need to have the decency to off themselves for their orange fuhrer! Yet, is there any greater honor than to drink the poison Koolaid for Donald?

No I don't expect that. My question was clear. What are people supposed to do?

at 11% unemployment, there is no reasonable explanation for 1/3rd of the people to be in danger unless they willingly put themselves there by deciding to exploit the eviction hiatus. I fully expect around Labor Day we will be hearing sad stories about why student loans must remain in limbo for another 6 months as well.

Really? Teachers, medical coders, people who work in advertising, restaurants, hotels, airlines, travel, transportation workers, farming, university faculty and staff, people who work in manufacturing, mom and pop businesses, people who work in gyms, nail salons, hairdressers and barbers, building maintenance, car manufacturing and sales, entertainment (museums, theaters, actors, amusement parks, horse riding, indoor gun ranges), retail sales and on and on? All those people are many, many, many more should easily be able to find jobs in which they are qualified and have comparable salaries to the jobs they lost and are within a reasonable commute from where they currently live. People who aren't white, people who are disabled, people who are older shouldn't have a problem finding good-paying career replacement jobs before they end up having too much month at the end of the money.

Shame on all those bastards for not being like you. It's their own damned fault for losing a shot at their American dream.

How long ago did you finish college? How did you pay for it?

“If they would rather die,” said Scrooge, “they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”

Dont buy in Montana right now the New Yorkers and Californians are buying it up.

I think we need internal migration control in this country.

Your problem not mine. They can move in with their parents, a sibling, a child. If they are illegals--they can self deport and move in with family where they came from.

What do you think happens to a landlord who doesn't pay his mortgage or taxes? You think he gets to just say, "no thanks, not leaving".

It’s irrlevant. If you took student loans you signed for the debt and you’re liable for it

Pay their rent.

If people were of the mind that they’re liable for all their obligations even in a pandemic then they would be far more critical of government lockdown proposals and would demand governments use a cost benefit analysis. Early on when the government was promising free money liberal Charlatans were saying “well your job is non essential and one death is too many” this is absurd position.

I’m still working and have maybe two years expenses in the bank. Trump gave you a great economy, if you didn’t use it to stockpile cash then that’s on you

Are you Drawdown's mom? Why are you answering for him? Do you have a special relationship with Drawdown? Is Drawdown one of your DP memberships?

How do people that are out of work for two months without a paycheck or unemployment benefits and zero savings supposed to pay the rent? Did you know that one-third of Americans do not have $200 saved for emergencies, that's around 90 million people.

People were barely making ends meet. Most rents are very expensive where I live. In New York (not where I live) a 16th floor walk-up apartment with one bedroom rents for around $1800 a month. And that's not a fancy apartment, that's in the low class neighborhood. How can anyone afford that if they aren't working? And the utilities are outrageously expensive.

It will reflect the infection rate most likely. Many will move in with relatives, live in their cars, live on the streets or find a shelter. All of those scenarios do not bode well for their health.

Well I guess they don’t, so they should’ve saved money.

You’re right In that making bad decisions can come back to haunt you.

Maybe what they need is for intellectuals and sophisters to stop caring about their health so they can start making better decisions

Say that to the homeless father of 3 that sticks a gun in your face and takes your stuff, I am sure they will be very amused...….

So, you want them to possibly die from Covid?

I almost feel sorry for those who have no mercy for these soon-to-be-evicted people. I know one thing though. You push enough of the population into utter despair and hopelessness and soon they'll rise up and take what they have to have and you better not be in their way..and that includes your family. You may think "I'll shoot them". Think again..You can't stop them all...and most of the down-trodden know this>>You have to sleep sometime.
You can talk brave on this board but when 20 of them are breaking down your door at 3:30 AM, your smugness will turn into complete horror.

But I'll bet everyone in the household has a $1000 cell phone; they have sattelite tv, drive an SUV... or two, never hesitate to waste money on Starbucks coffee, maybe are feeding a couple or three dogs and pets, wear the latest trend in sneakers, nice car stereo, have money each month for beer, junk fast food, or pot, and had kids before they could afford them...

shall I go on?

Anyone over age 25 who has been working for at least 5 years and doesn't have at least 10k saved is just dumb. America has a lot of stupid people is what you should have said.
