Doubtful. At least 3 or 4 players will be sold this summer

Money rules!

I am not saying we will be back semi finals, but I am hopeful we will be back in the champions league. For example they are negotiating with Real Madrid to buy with a buy back clause for Odegaard. They are negotiating for Lisandro Martínez, the Argentinian defender. Ajax is also in the market for Yad Lochereau.

For the future they have bought Christian Kjelder Rasmussen and are getting a top talent from AZ. But those are future stars.

They have bought Razvan Marin from Liege.

They also bought Kik Pierie. Another good talent but maybe not next season.

Look also for this talent, Gravenberch, he will be in the first team as soon as next season

And many more are on the way. Also, with tens of millions from the CL this year and a possible 150 million in transfers, Ajax will able to buy good new players.

Even without the money from the transfers of this years and most of the CL money, Ajax has about 202 million dollars in the bank. So no debt and 202 million in the pocket, plus the transfers of De Jong, possibly Neres, van de Beek, De ligt, Tadic and Ziyech, the transfers will cash them another 150 million dollars plus. Well with that money they could buy a lot of good replacement players. So I hope the chances of them getting in to the CL group stages next year is good.

The real question is who to support in the final....

Liverpool win would piss off Manchester and many in the UK.

Tottenham win would piss off Piers Morgan and all the arrogant delusional Arsenal fans...

Hard choices...

I can only imagine what a difficult choice this must be for you, Pete.

The nice thing for Ajax is that usually players get more valuable after a few seasons with Ajax, if they are any good they will bring a lot more than Ajax paid for them.

The keeper will stay another year, half the team will certainly remain and hopefully next season a few more talents will bloom into the next new De Jong or any of the Ajax team of this season.

It’s a bad week for Pete with all 4 English teams in the finals.
I was thinking of you the other night during the comeback. As much as i hate Liverpool even i enjoyed that YNWA at the end.

P.s things are looking good as i know you’ll ask lol

Its amazing Liverpool might not win the title when they've only lost 1 game all season
Actually agree and there is a simple solution imo.

3 points for a win.
1 point for a draw.
-1 for a loss.

The consequences for a draw are bigger than a loss relatively speaking.

Couldn't ask anymore of Liverpool, for both teams to be in the high 90's and it be that close, what are you gonna do?

Still Champions League final to go, so not all is lost.

But still, would have been good.

Silly season already started even before the Spanish and German seasons are done.

Looks like some big stars are leaving English clubs with Eden Hazard leading the way.

This silly season will really see the pulling power of the EPL vs other leagues as big traditional teams like Barca, Real Madrid, Juve and Bayern all are in a generational change. Will Man United history be enough to to attract big names? Will Pogba leave?

Interesting times ahead...

Hmm never thought I would be supporting Chelaski over Arsenal, but the stunt Arsenal is pulling with its Armenian player is pissing me off. UEDA should fine and ban Arsenal for this ****.

Why are you mad at Arsenal?
The player in question has refused to play there on several occasions and for good reason. The reception they received in the 2015 European games was hardly great and the tensions have increased since then with the clashes a couple of years ago.

The player is playing politics when he should not. He is no better than Ozil meeting with the Turkish leader. His safety was guaranteed by the hosts and that should be enough. Armenian athletes have been in Baku many times with no problems. He is a coward and Arsenal should fine him for not being willing to play. It's not the first time this player has done it.

Instead they yet again try to play politics against UEFA just because they don't like the venue. Not the first time I might add.. They even moaned over having to play in Copenhagen once and the thier "fans" caused a riot.

I have very little respect for Arsenal and thier hardcore fans...they are arrogant has beens who still live on the unbeatable season for 2 decades ago.

I have Russia deja vu.. Remember the supposed problems there would be and all that? Well where was it? And it is not helping that the British media as usual are pushing the victim narrative...

I mean he’s had death threats in the past, Human rights watch has described Azerbaijan’s record as atrocious, it’s extremely hard to fly into apparently and icing on the cake Police in Baku were videoed today stopping arsenal fans who had his name on their shirt...

But sure British Press narrative....

Death threats sure... So he says. He has made this political which means that comes with the territory. Other players who have pulled off stunts like this for political gain have also received threats... .unacceptable of course but sadly expected.

As for Human Rights Watch, it does not have glowing views on the UK either. Saying that, Azerbaijan and Armenia are 2 sides of the same coin when it comes to human rights.

As for the picture of the Arsenal fan being stopped because he had the jersey on... I call possible bull****. British fans are known for thier drunken antics so chances are far better that's why he was stopped. Hell I would not be surprised that it was staged or the photo doctored. I saw a couple of Brits with City shirts on being talked to by the police here.. Was it because of the Sterling City shirt aka racist, or the fact they were clearly drunk at midday on a week day?

Why is it British teams and fans can't just enjoy the game instead of making it all political and play the victim card? Not to mention be drunk and violent...

Anyways I am seeing Chelaski in problems internally, so it will probably be an Arsenal win. Yes I will be watching.

British fans travel all over Europe with no issues for the most part. In terms of club fans British fans have proved to be far better behaved lately than their European counterparts especially Italian and Dutch fans.

Atmosphere is terrible in this one, doesn't even feel like a final.

Congrats to Liverpool on nr 6 win and cementing thier claim as the best English team.

Game it self was rather boring and slow paced. Most interesting part was the female streaker...

Imagine being Lucas and being on the bench with trash players like Kane and Dele playing. Gotta feel for him, considering he basically got them there.

There's a time and a place you muppet.

Reyes killed in car accident. He was going 120mph (almost 200km/hr):

Spanish football legend Santiago Canizares slams Jose Antonio Reyes’s ‘reprehensible attitude’ | Daily Mail Online

Does anybody know what kind of car he was driving??
I wouldnt be surprised if it was a Porsche. They call them widowmakers for good reason

He started out playing just after I moved to Spain. Quite sad. Though he always seemed be that kind of Sevillano, talks a lot, no one really understands. They're a bit different down there in Andalucia, especially those from Cadiz and Sevilla. A lot of gypsy in them, a lot of "who cares just live life for the now" kind of attitude.

At least no one was killed in a different car. The other two family members probably liked going very fast.

Yes, there's a time and a place to tell people "Don't speed, it costs lives" and that's probably best served when a high profile personality drove too fast and killed himself and others.

He put the lives of other road users at risk. If this isn't the time and the place, then when is? Never.
