OK, yet they were presented as separately identified (non-white?) ethnic (nationality?) groups on that chart.


I didn't see any representation that they are all non white.

If they were not included in white Americans that is a clear indication that they were not considered to be (simply) white Americans.

EDIT: It is possible that they were included among white Americans as well as in the "selected ethnic groups" presented.
