We'll score at least 1.
Maybe, but the threat alone means City can't go all out at least at first. It is not impossible for City but unlikely.

It's the champions league, nothings impossible.

Doesn't mean we haven't haven't wrecked the supposed best team in the world twice this season. Anfield brought them to their knees.

Liverpool is the only team to hurt City. Then again City has only played average teams at best most of the season. If Liverpool had not been so inconsistent, then there might have been a challenge to City. As it stands now, if City win over United on Saturday, then they are champions....as the first of the major leauges....even before Bayern. Just shows how poor the EPL has become... well average is a better word.

ManCity seem to be a bit of a basketcase every year when it comes to the CL
CL is all about experience of the club and players involved. It took Chelski 1 billion plus pounds and almost 10 years to have a lucky draw and good year to win the CL.

The reason that it is the usual suspects that keep getting to the last 4 is yes money but almost as important... experience in the competition.

City will win it...but need better experienced CL players.

This is why I watch much less CL games these days, its always Barca, Madrid, Bayern and perhaps an Italian or UK team that has a chance of winning it.
Everybody else might as well just pack it in and forget about it. Its not fun anymore, its become too predictable.

I blame Bosman for all this

If City do win the derby, and I'll be hoping they do, they will become the first team in Premier League history to clinch the title with six games to spare.

Boy Martin Atkinson is a poor ref or a Man U supporter. Not saying he handed the game to United, because City screwed up (so far at 83 minutes), but how on earth can a tackle from behind that does not touch the ball not be a red card?

No meltdown, they lost against the better team (the better team today I mean).

Roma deservedly go through. I hope they meet Pool in the final

When you give up a 3 goal lead it’s a meltdown. I don’t care how well the other team play.

Yea it was a crazy meltdown against an extremely physical side. Barca 's performance was shambolic to say the least. They were bullied of the pitch.

Another massive referee mistake that decided a tie last night. And people wonder why England will have no refs at the world cup.... it's because they are so **** or corrupt. In no way in hell was that a last minute penalty and then he sends off the goalkeeper, one of the best penalty savers ever, he sends him off for complaints? Or was it to make it easier for a very poor Real Madrid to win? Absolutely scandalous and I hope Michael Oliver never gets games in Europe again.

Hope anyone BUT Real Madrid win this year after that scandal.

For me it was a clear penalty. He went to learn forward to chest the ball down, but then gets a shove in the back that puts him out of balance and knocks him over.

He tackles him from behind and kick him
in the stomach? It’s a clear penalty.

I watch EPL sat and sunday mornings, love that NBCSN and NBC play the games. I don't have a team that I root for. I have some serious issues with the league and I can't get how so many fans, particularly of all the teams other than the top 6, can be so into it. What do they play for, just staying up? Most of them will never have a chance to win against the top 6 teams that have so much money they have bench players that any team would love to have them start. How can you get excited that he, my team finished 10th, what a great season

And pretty much the rest of the leagues in Europe are the same way. And the way you can spend absurd amounts of money to buy people all over the world is nuts, the rich teams just keep getting richer.

Are there any fans from teams not th etop 6 of EPL that could explain how they get excited for season when in all likelihood they can never compete for a championship (Leicester City aside)?

As an Everton fan I think we are closer to our team than the top 6. We appreciate the little things more, our clubs are still more focused on the average fan vs the corporate fan/ tourist, we haven't been spoiled so we are more reasonable as fans and we tend to generate a much better atmosphere. Every year you hope for a good run in on of the cups and that you might grab one of those European places.

Isn't that sad? How does that keep you interested enough to watch? Although Everton isn't that bad of a club and more the second tier. I stop watching my sports teams if they are out of the playoffs. THere is nothing to root for. Granted, the fear of relegation could keep things interesting as well.

I guess that's just the American in me, where everything has a playoffs, so even if you aren't the top team, you could still win. Not having a playoff to me is also crazy. Manchester City had this league basically won month ago

Being a fan over here is much more tribal. Look at the city vs united game last weekend, in term of the final standings it really means nothing however in terms of pride it was huge for the fans. I guess the average English football fan just isn't as fickle as the American sports fan.
We don't need a playoff system because we have several knockout cup's which fill that gap for me, you could say the champions lg is Europe's "playoff".

He kicks the ball and the "tackle" is nothing. There was no penalty.

Every neutral I’ve read agrees it was a penalty. The only people that don’t are either Juve fans or Barca fans lol.
I urge you to watch the replay in slow mo, he goes through the player first and appears to make no contact with the ball. Even if he did make slight contact ( which he didn’t) it’s still s foul because he goes through the player from behind.
