He's got that " I'm an ass kicker look."

I sincerely wish him a long and successful political career. And I hope the current problems in Washingon DC do not hinder people from voting for him.....and any promotions he so very well deserves.

He looks like somebody from Children of the Damned. He looks like a creepy alien or something... haha

Pence, as the sitting VP, is not going to primary Trump, so you can cross that one off the list. No other mainstream Republican will primary him either. So unless Trump voluntarily declines to run, I think he's a shoe-in.

If I had my wish, Trump would step aside and let Pence run, and Pence would pick Carly Fiorina as his running mate.

I think that all reflects more on the stupidity of the Republican base more than anything.

If you think the stupidity of the Republican base won Trump the election, then what chance do you have in 2020? Won't they be just as stupid?

So winning the election means someone is smarter than the other? I guess Obama is MUCH smarter than McCain and Romney, especially since he beat them by MUCH larger margins than Trump beat Hillary...;)

EVEN YOU ARE MUCH SMARTER THAN MCCAIN & ROMNEY, I DOUBT being smarter than those two proves anything!

2020 will be filled with eager Democrats who sat out in 2016 willing to go to the polls to get Trump out of office. Also, I doubt independents will pull the lever for Trump in 2020. He hasn't increased his support at all.

why do the lowest educated cohort of voters strongly support the dems? same with the groups that score the lowest on IQ tests?

i don't know. Why do the most educated cohort of voters (Asian Americans) support the Dems? Same with the group that score the highest on IQ tests? (Asian Americans). Last I checked, they have given your political party a huge collective middle finger in the past few presidential elections.

smartest candidates since I have been voting

intellectual rating of the two major parties' candidates since I Have been voting

George Herbert Walker Bush
William Clinton
Mitt Romney
Barack Obama
Walter Mondale
Mike Dukakis
Donald Trump
Al Gore
Jimmy Carter
G W Bush
Bob Dole
Hillary Clinton
John Kerry\
Ronald Reagan
John McCain

Not a bad list. I think you deeply overrate Trump, and I'd change a few other spots, but not bad.

actually I would. I forget more about political philosophy daily than you have ever displayed you know on this forum.

Your idea of political "philosophy" is worshipping anything the GOP tells you to worship. Hell, the fact that you guys actually thought Obama was a "socialist" speaks volumes about your lack of knowledge regarding "socialism".

LOL. That's what both sides say when they lose - their base didn't come out to vote.

yeah i really worship the GOP on issues like abortion, gay rights and school prayer
Obama got us closer to socialism

Pence would make a great President.

No female has ever made it to the White House. Pence would have to pick a male counterpart.

In terms of strategy, I will likely end up voting for the Democratic Party candidate, almost no matter who it is. That will come with serious limitations. What would cause me to consider sitting it out is if they select someone like Bernie Sanders, maybe even Elizabeth Warren. What would cause me to really sit it out, and change my mind on the right of the people to vote is if we get a Trump v Oprah election.

This is an early 2020 poll of likely candidates running. Out of them who will you either vote for or feel has the most likely chance of winning?

Pick from the following choices:

  • Donald Trump
  • Joe Biden
  • Bernie Sanders
  • Elizabeth Warren
  • Cory Booker
  • Kamala Harris
  • Mike Pence
  • Michael Avenatti
  • John Kasich
  • Kanye West

Can you handle eight years of Trump? How about if he wins the Nobel Peace prize? Methinks this poll didn't come out the way you wanted. The deplorables win again.

Pretty much spot on except for two revisions.

Romney way too high on the list & although he was a lousy candidate because he graduated from the only
school I didn't get accepted at IMO Dukakis was extremely bright, probably #1 on that list!

Old man Bush graduated Yale in three years, was captain of the varsity baseball team, was the top of his class. that's pretty special Dukakis I really invested no time in-I knew I was going to vote for GHWB.

Do not see None Of The Above as s choice.

All the posters who voted for Trump on the poll are Republican partisans who would ultimately support whoever is the Republican nominee in 2020, Trump or anybody else. The split vote in the poll now with the Dem candidates will likely change when the Dems nominate a candidate. I doubt people will make the same mistake in 2020 that happened in 2016.

I think they should try and run Hillary again, as so many still love her....and after all, she DID win the popular vote.
(sarcasm)

I assume that the R's will go with Pence, but the D's I have no idea.

The old guard (the failed guard) are still doing their best to keep younger talent down, just as they have been doing for well over a decade.
