Dutch trial opens for 4 suspects in downing of flight MH17

You bored me with your naivety P.S. You didn't know that the Ukrainian army has BUK missiles? P. P. S. Your country is a member of NATO, which means that it is a lackey of the United States , and will do what it is ordered to do. Therefore, the decisions of your "fair trial" will be useful in the toilet as toilet paper.

And you make me nauseous with your propaganda lies. And I do know the Ukrainians have BUK missiles too, but last time I checked no Ukrainian missile launchers drives from the Russian border out to a field in Russian occupied/Russian fighters controlled land, fire a missile and then depart back to Russian soil.

And your disdain for the US is a bit weird seeing as you are on a US website lying about Dutch investigations.

Your ignorance of the facts and your lies about the evidence have been noted and dismissed as stupid propaganda from mother Russia.

This is what a St. Petersburg Russian troll looks like.

I have a disdain for scoundrels who, in the interests of financial dealers, sow enmity and hatred between people. And this is regardless of their nationality.
And, by the way, I can also ask you a question: what is a Dutch citizen doing on a US website, spreading lies about Russia? At least I'm an American citizen here...

You mean you are describing your attitude here. But then not in the interest of financial dealers but out of mistaken patriotic views. And the one who is sowing enmity and hatred between people is Putin and his ilk.

1. I am Dutch, a member here for over 8 years because I am interested in politics and debating. You however have been spreading lies and insults against the Dutch and Americans

2. I am not spreading lies about Russia, everything I have written about Russia in this investigation is factual, everything you have presented is nonsense.

No one here knows or even believes you are American. More to the point, you are indistinguishable from an Olgino Russian.

This site is not owned nor operated by the U.S. government.

Even if this were the case, it is better than being indistinguishable from Bandera bandits

Take your Stalin ideology and defense of the Putin regime elsewhere. You'll get no traction here.

In the Netherlands, despite the coronavirus epidemic, a court hearing on MH17 will be held .
This is only logical... The curators of this process are much scarier and more dangerous than the coronavirus for the judges. They should be more afraid of them.

splutter, splutter, splutter

apologist for the Kremlin thugs screaming for lockdown to nix the trial.

More evidence that you are totally and utterly clueless. These court dates were pre-trail court dates in which prosecutors and lawyers for the defense can ask the the judges for further investigation, hearings, witnesses to be questioned, etc. etc. etc. etc.

The defense of one of the suspects was given a few months to further read themselves into the evidence. That is why the court date from yesterday was held.

All this shows you are over your head in this case, and not just a little bit.

Yes. None of which were in the vicinity of the launch site.

Yup, those who spread lies and make light of the horrendous crime that Russia and the separatists have committed. Russia is to blame for the downing of MH17, pure and simple.

Heres a fact for you. The Netherlands spends 1.1% of their GDP on defense and refuses to even spend the paltry 2% agreed upon by NATO, along with all the other various leech countries in Europe that depend on the American taxpayer to keep them free. You talk a whole lot of crap here about America and our Politics for a guy in a parasite country that cant even defend themselves from anything.

Great, start your own thread whining about the Netherlands and Nato, this is about MH17 and the mass murder of it's passengers by the Russians and their buddies in Ukraine.

Dutch trial opens for 4 suspects in downing of flight MH17

A Dutch prosecutor has solemnly read out the names of all 298 people killed when a missile shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in 2014 over eastern Ukraine

The three trial judges and two alternate judges.

Since Russia refuses to extradite the accused, they will be tried in absentia. I expect more members of Russia's 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade to be charged as the trial proceeds.

I also expect compensation lawsuits to be lodged at the Hague if guilty verdicts are rendered.

Shouldn't they be trying who ever in the airlines industry allowed them to fly over a war zone?

It was studied and rules were changed, but last time I checked the airline industry did not shoot a missile at the MH17 plane.

I heard that the Netherlands is one of the few countries practicing herd immunity instead of lockdowns.

They were suppose to fly around it, but too the normal path. The airlines put the people in harms way.

They were not supposed to fly around it, there was no no-fly zone over Ukraine, only low altitude travel was in danger, MH17 flew at cruising altitude far above the danger zone. But no plane like MH17 is safe from a BUK missile.

UNITED NATIONS, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Ukraine on Tuesday defended its decision not to close airspace in the east of the country where a Malaysian passenger plane was shot down, saying it was unaware that anti-aircraft weapons were being used in the area and that planes could be under threat.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine by a Russian-made Buk missile, the Dutch Safety Board concluded on Tuesday in its final report on the crash in July 2014 that killed all 298 people on board.

The board, which did not lay blame for the air disaster, said Ukraine should have closed the airspace over the conflict zone, and that the 61 airlines that had continued flying there should have recognized the potential danger.

“No one at this time ... was even aware of the presence of highly sophisticated anti-air missile capabilities,” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told reporters during a visit to the United Nations.

“No-one at the time had any kind of awareness of such a threat... everyone was absolutely sure it was about purely conventional weapons,” said Klimkin, adding that no efforts would be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Dutch safety board did criticize Malaysia, the IATA for not closing the airspace even if Ukraine had not done it. But still this is not the reason the plane was shot down, that was down to the people who fired the BUK at a civilian aircraft.

So...

You are OK with such incompetence?

So...

You are OK with such incompetence?

The worlds major air carriers had no problem with a mandate to remain above 30,000 feet (MANPAD range is below that).

However, no one could have guessed that Russia would import a BUK missile system into Ukraine.

So...

You are OK with such incompetence?

Mistake, yes, not smart, yup, but the airspace was not closed to technically they were allowed to fly there.

Making an unfortunate decision is not the same thing as incompetence. I hope the air carrier will have to pay a fine but the only real culprits are the Russians and their Donbas allies.

WTF...

Nobody could have guessed?

That's total B.S.

Even if it wasn't technically closed, I did know at the time those years back. I do know that it was very irresponsible for the airlines to fly over a war zone.

That cannot be denied. It is proven by the missile strike.
